I'm subscribed to Car and Evo and for the first time in 5 years I thought Car was more interesting that Evo this month - can't put my fingure on it - certainly not grown up yet or wearing a flat cap, just didn't find Evo 'grabbed me' as it normally does!
Anyway as a previous reader of CCC/fast car etc etc, I find CCC very thin and the other mags a waste of space (though useful for ICE ads if you want a new CD unit or something!)... Jap Performance and Banzai are both interesting, but seem to lack some technical detail and wouldn't give you enough pointers to start modifing your Japanese car!

well let me reply as to why ill not be buying evo, and why i was disappointed.
(a) £3.60
(b) you take out the car of the year section and theres not much left that we cant see on tv progs like 5th gear, driven top gear etc. And they do their own car of the year as well.
(c) IMHO i cant see why the clio and perhaps the mini do so well against other cars that should be much better "drivers cars". All ive heard from others is that the clio is a bit of a mess.
Im not denying that there are nice pictures or that its an enthusiast magazine which is better researched than other so called magazines, indeed its probably the pick of the bunch. But things move on and im afraid i wont be moving with them. Much of the information in evo is readily available over the internet or other mediums like tv, for free, and is arguably presented in a much less drier format. Theres only so far you can go when you are limited to a few pages and non movement.

I work for the editorial section of Intersection which is a high end car culture magazine. We dont do any (conventional) roadtests but everything is linked in to cars. We are basically a style mag about cars and from the feedback we have been getting it has been very well received. Lots of this feedback says that we are filling in a massive hole in the market. Although we are not about tuning etc I think those of us who are car nuts (um anyone?!) will like it. Our (currently being redone) website is at www.intersectionmagazine.com Any questions feel free to email me at : henry@intersectionmagazine.com

I just buy MaxP and FastC - both suck pretty much of the same cars. The technical sections are written without virtually any technical credibility. stopped revs and the other one - they truely suck.
I like Evo, and I'm impartial to Top Gear or Auto Express when theirs nowt else to read.
Recently, (and worringly showing my age now) - started to get interested in the 'classic car' mags. Atleast they salvage an old car and restore it in full colour glory - magic.
Pipes and slippers next LOL!!
