Not necessarily owned but the ones I drove at the time

1) Metro 1.0L (my Mums). I quite liked it actually - it always started and was nippy around town.

2) Saab 900 Turbo Ruby (my Dads). Got this if I was lucky

3) Peugeot 205 GTi 1.9. My first car - bought it when I was 23 - it had 85,000 on the clock. Sold it when I was 25, it had 130,000 on the clock

My vehicular history is as follows:

1989 Ford Fiesta 1.1L - technical write-off two weeks after I bought it, but managed to get it fixed for cheap. Had 128k on the clock when I gave it to my carless sister. Great car - got me through Uni.

1993 Cavalier 2.0 GLi - drove this into the back of a Fiat 5 days after I bought it (can you see a pattern emerging? ). A bit dull but very comfortable and not overly slow either. Did 65,000 miles on just one service, an oil change, brakes, tyres and a replacement clutch cable. Cheap to run, or what?

1995 Rover 216i - company car. Crashed this 5 days after I got it (some woman doing a 3-point turn on a blind, 60-limit bend, too used to the big brakes/ABS on the Cav, so skidded into the side of her ) Went back to the Cavalier for another year and a bit...

1. Aged 13 learnt to drive in a 2.8L Capri.

2. learnt to pass my test in a Metro, 10 days after my 17th birthday, which was stolen at my first party when my parnets were abroad!

3. Marina as punishemnt (ok it was free and I was sticking to my studies at school )

Big gap at medical school............

4. Talbot Sunbeam, "kept the rain out!"

5. Astra (Ok, in a slow straight line but that was it! )

6. VW panel van, "fastest thing from 0-15 MPH then grab 2nd great for fishing, see fishing section on 22B.COM"

7. Fiat Uno, "the start of left foot braking!"

8. Fiat Tipo 1.3L, "better for fishing transport but did not have the balance of the UNO! "

9. Fiat Tipo diesel turbo (with alloy wheels ) After 130,000 miles it earnt me enough tarmac vouchers that I could consider a 22B

'68 Austin Mini 1000 MkII given at 13, speant 4 years restoring it - now it's looking a little unloved after letting my sister run it for a while
'71 Mini Clubman Estate - my first road car from 1990, sold it to a dealer, now in Japan!!!
Back to the '68 mini until 1995
'67 Sunbeam Alpine series V GT - ran it for 2 months then took it off the road to fix the sills - still in bits 9 years later...
'88 MG Maestro - came after the Mini and got nicked and torched 2 months later, thankfully
'83 VW Polo CX - I was a student, and it was a cheap replacement for the MG
'69 Series IIa Land Rover SWB - never ran it on the road, it's in bits...hmm there's a theme running here...
'89 Pug 309 1.6 GL - hearing aid biege, I inherited it, well that's my excuse
'90 Corrado 16V - finally got something worthy!
then in September '98 I got the Scoob! my first new car an MY98 UK Turbo!

Incidentally I still can't seem to match the pace of the '68 Mini cross country, I was invincible in that car ...

205gti1.9 fabulous car, but wore out after 55000 miles and 18 months

205gti1.9 later model - slower ?more weight due to extra sound proofing and heavier hoses etc under bonnet

lancia delta integrale evolution 1 - green injectors, ecu, hybrid turbo, exhaust, very fast and loads of exhaust flames.

lanci delta integrale evo 3 : standard, so slower, but better built, great interior seats etc more subtle colour blue rather than red , I must be getting older!

Moms 1.1 Fiesta Ghia (mmmm comfy !)

Passed test in a Fiesta Diesel (mmmm Power ! - best memory of the driving instructor telling me to go faster down a main road, when I was already doing over 70! His excuse was well you will do it when you have passed !

Got Escort Diesel Van as company car ! (Nearly as fast as a white AstraMax !)

Then a company handmedown, Citroen BX (Jeez - dont try handbraking them !)

Escort Mk5 1.6 (The really early one just after they came out. I got thru my tire allocation (8 tyres) in the 1st 10K miles as the geometry came out of the factory so bad !)

Then Astra Mk4 Turbo Diesel (This really peed me off with company cars so...)

Honda Civic VTI (Man.. Did it rev - best memory having fun with motorbikes and seeing them not believe it !)

Fiat Coupe 16v (Slow as dogs, bit of a gutless wonder but looks dead cool )

Audi 1.8 Turbo Sport (Looks nice, handles and brakes nicer, but cost a lot of sponds and was a little bit gutless..)

Then drove a Scoob at a Jonathan Palmer day. That was it... I had to have one....

Now MY96 WRX (Best car I have had for sure)
