Is it me or am I the only one that uses two spaces to park my Scooby ???

Hanley, why do children NEED bigger spaces? Do they need to open the doors wider?
When I was a kid my parents would have given me HELL if I scratched another car door.
And if it is simply so you can open your door fully, then by even having the spaces you are aknowledging that the standard spaces are NOT big enough.
Frankly it is impossible to get out of the Exige in a standard sized space without hitting an adjacent car!! Would you like me to park next to you and leave a series of dents in your doors hmm? Because let me know where you park and I'll happily come along and do it for you. Wonder how you'd like that.

Roadrunner.
We aren't saying we are abvove normal drivers just get feed up of no respect for our motors. It will happen whatever make/model you drive.
Two spaces reduces the chance of having a costly bodywork repair bill through someones carelessness

It would pi55 me off if someone dinked my car just as
much as the arragant lowlife selfish to55er who thinks
just because he drives a mass produced japenese car
he/she's is entitled to two spaces!!!!YOU ARE NOT!!!!!!
This debate is not about "if I do it far enough away then I'm
not harming anyone" Its about idiots taking 2 spaces when
clearly if everybody did this, there would not be enough room
for 50 per cent of people to park!!!SIMPLE
I bet all of you people who do this are the same arragant
pr1cks who leave it to the last minute when 2 roads merge
i.e. motorway roadworks just because you are special!!!!!!!
Grow up & get a life!!!!!!!! Yours taffyboyo!!!!!!!
edited to ad a smillie cause it is cristmas

Pisses me right off when I find a dent in my car Agree with you in some aspect about parking but all I will say is that I will always try to park on the end where I can position the car so that there is some 'decent' door room. Taking two spaces isn't justifed no matter what car you have, unless you pay double road tax
Read the thread, never

Now now taffyboy its christmas eve !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And know I don't leave it till the last minute to get in lane.
Look at it from the supermarket point of view. More space = more people in the shop (potentially) If they made parking spaces the right size in the first place there would'nt be a problem.
Still gonna use two spaces where I can
Caio !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just thinking out aloud....if Subaru drivers park in Mother and Child places and then a mother has to put her child in a car in a narrow space (as some selfish git has taken the space) and hits another Subaru while trying to get a child and shopping in the car........oooops.

Why don’t they section the car parks up into
Disabled
Mother/Father and child
Scooby owners
Posh cars
Stupid foke
Rust buckets
Company Cars
Vans
MPV's
Sports car owners etc etc.....
and the clever bit is you don’t have to belong to any of these groups.
Its just that you can choose what type of person you park next to!
My choice will be in with the company car owners to make me look important or in the mother/Father child’s spaces so it looks like I can lay women and father children.
Which section would you like provided for your parking pleasure??

Simple rules for me - always go to the supermarket at the quietest times, always park in the end bay, with the passenger side flush to the kerb. This minimises the possibilities of getting dented. If the car park is very quiet, I will occasionally park over two bays, but this is only when it is quiet and the rest of the car park is empty, and I park at the farside of the carpark away from the shop. If it is busy then I respect the fact that people need to park, and reliase that the car may get dinged.

anyway
Why have they stopped putting door stops and bump strips on cars.
No bloody wonder cars get dinged and dented.
next you know they won't be putting bumpers on the front and rear of cars
what ever next?

i always park at the far end of the car parks and walk , but its amazing how a smart car attrackts people to it , will always be some one parked next to it when you get back
allways use two spaces in the works car park as well , really use to annoy one of the secrity gaurds who was forever phoning me to move it , , was told i would have a written warning if i continued , therest of the lads in work werent to happy with me beeing treated like that and the parking got worse every one parked over lines etc till he left me alone then work sacked him

Wot we need is two car parks!! one car park that costs more for people who give a $hit about their car! I would sure pay a premium if it meant that I had less chance of some silly cow from a council estate trashing my bodywork (the cars that is!)
That way the trash can park their trash and trash other peoples trash and I keep my car which I worked damn hard to get and sacrificed alot to afford in a reasonable condiion.

There seems to be more agreeing with the use of two spaces or wider spaces.
therefore more people get p****d off with the dents & ding thing than don't
So I'm carrying on, but I will try and park as far away as possible so as to reduce Inconvenience to others when I can.
But it just shows that spaces aren't big enough and parents don't keep an eye on their kids and a lot of people have no respect for other peoples property and the expanse that it can cause
Cheers

I caught a woman with her shopping nicely parked on the roof of my six month old RS2000 a few years back. I went absolutely nuts and she started crying saying what was I making a fuss about.
I really must admit that I felt like smacking this ignoramus in the gob.
I also had a run in with a council worker in his van the whole car park was empty so he decided to park next to my car so close that I couldn't get back in my car he had also put a dent in the door. I waited for the chap and on his return and asked what his problem was. He gave it the bigun so he got a good kicking and I got a £200 fine. Well worth it though.

if some one dented my car i would probably lose it and violence would ensue, given the generally contrary attitude of the type of person that does this. if they are sorry and it was an accident then i would say "dont worry." sadly this is rarely the case. i have experienced someone reverse into my car, old bugger - deny it and threaten violence! fortunatley no damage so i left it.
fact is, this is the most likely form of satisfaction and instant relief. i mean you'll never get any money out the perpertrator. its a shame but true.
if they are up for the rumble - ding ding! round one! lol
