Just read this thread.

All I can say is why did you not lift off when there is a fast car behind, you can use all the excuses in the world, but that is the rule.

I only have a 1.6 and when on track and going flat out the big power guys struggle to get past down the back straight, i always lift, its not a race.

If you had done that to me I would have been to stewards office straight away, unacceptable driving chap.

Sorry but I have seen many a near miss.

Happy New Year to you all any way

Blimey

sorry was this a track day or Shuey and friends doing a pre season warm up the comments on hear would terrify most track day organisers and insurers and probably the local A & E departments

The primary idea of track days is to enjoy your vehicle within the safe confines of a track i.e no plod and no kerbs or lamp posts to contend with

Please do not mistake track day for race day if you want to race professionaly get a comp licence and a number on the side.

Regards

Tim

Dean and Jonto,

Two problems with the brakes:

1) Rear pads worn down to metal, my fault, I should have checked them!

2)Fluid was boiling after several fast laps, spongy pedal etc, again my fault, was holding off changing it as intending to fit braided hoses at next service, with the benefit of hindsight...

The 'cheap and cheerful' new EBC fronts were great and didn't fade at all. Might be a different story in the dry though? Also used up about 2/3 of pads during the day!

Regards Gareth

Dave,

Trackday rates for SIDC and scoobynet members are in place with Competition Car Insurance also known as Eggar Lawson (can't find their number at the mo) search on the web you'll get it straight away.

Ask for Georgina (gorgeous girl ) and she'll go throught the negotiated rates with you
