Tweenierob - we can see where you are coming from and had thought about this. Not only would we hate to give wrong advice, we'd not savour the thought of dropping in the proverbial for doing so.
I've drafted up a disclaimer in the "LAW" forum on the site to try and explain that advice is all it is.

I have a question to mr Plod.
Burglary rate has increased in my area. Yet all you're bothered about is fining law abiding citizens for defective brake lights rather than getting the real criminals out there.
So instead of parking up and waiting for us to drive past, get out of you're car and actually do something positive and worthwhile.

Without wishing to offend any officiers its true what pops says.
police do seem more concearned with silly things rather than proper crime. Ive seen it time and time again when ive been pulled. After they have let me go i have driven off and witnessed several guys giving a poor man a severe beating further down the road. Its been a similiar story several times. If they had driven past me instead of pulling me they would have caught vandals or assualts etc etc..

Do you honestly think that the average cop on the street has any real say in what he is going to do that day?
It is handed down to him by his boss and that is handed down to him etc etc.
I agree that the police have some things seriously wrong but is is not the fault of the police men you are likely to meet on the street.

I have not had a reply yet confirming registration, how long does this take ? When I look on the members board I am on the list (DEEDEE). There are a few people on the board after me. I will wait.

i think it is a really good idea.......tweenierobs got a point about miss advice etc....thats wot citizens advice is for...but posting information rather than advice could be the way to go.
and if i get a speeding ticket will i be able to get it droppeded.
you know, freemasons and all that!

Excellent idea Burr tho', to be honest, I'd have preferred an appropriately configured board within SN. Life's short, and SN already takes up lots of time...

I would have welcomed that, however I think the SN forum software can't do the things we need to do with the board.
