Are we basically say ing that I can take a phase 1 CDB, bore it out to 2.37-ish and fit liners into it (wet) so it has a displacement of 2.2 ish, fit Phase 2 heads of a V5 STI and run uprated pistons, rings, conrods?

This is what we are looking at building over the next year or so (both of us work offshore, so it is a hobby engine) Should have about 380 - 390 bhp and 350 - 360 torque (using Andy F's TD06 mod or Bob Rawle's turbo conversion, hopefully)

I also assume we can fit the RA gearbox to a MY97 UK car as I believe the final drive of this is the same as the UK diffs? Correct?

Russell I am getting similar done but with an EJ25 crank to give 2.33. Target is 450 BHP and 400 lbft. The engine should take considerably more, but a nice gearbox which drives like stock may not hence the targets.

John - you starting wit an EJ20 or EJ 25 with heavy duty liners in it? What turbo you looking at using?

Just curious............and need some advice

Russell (any chance Andy might sell us the req''d parts to convert TD05 to 20G/TD06 "hybrid"?)

Phase I EJ 20 CDB is getting bored and linered, then stroked with Phase I EJ 25 crank and Lateral rods/pistons.

Email Andy about the turbo conversion.

Thumbs up

I asked this question (100mm on CDB) on this board some time ago and was advised that there was inadequate wall strength. It's not unknown however to obtain bad advice on Scoobynet
I hope it does work out successful though, keep us informed Steve
