If anyone has seen 'Chasing Amy' may recall...
Personally I like the idea of a chick with a horse. ![Wink](images/smilies/wink.gif)
<Banky> What difference does it make if I refer to her as a dyke? Or if I call the Whalers a bunch of ******* in the comfort of my own office, far from the sensitive ears of the rest of the world?

My best mate is gay. He didn't choose to be gay, it's just the way he is. He's said on occasion that he wishes sometimes he was straight as it would have saved him a hell of a lot of hassle from small minded bigots. When he first came out a small minority of people that had previously been friends with him didn't want to know him after that. Some members of his family still won't talk to him, I find that really, really sad
He's a lovely bloke with a heart of gold and is a fantastic loyal friend to me. I couldn't give a toss what his sexual preferences are and can't understand why it causes such a problem for some straight blokes to accept.

Its not "gay" thats in Claudius, its social tolerence, which is why we more readily accept lots of other things that dont fit into the white 2.4 children society.

Seriously, I dont really care about someone being gay somewhere, but it's still a little bit of an offense to my own gender, I find. A lack of respect to Mr. ****, so to speak. There's something female and weak about gay people that makes me uncomfortable when keeping in mind that they are male just like me.

I suspect some people here live in Narnia! (work it out)
If being gay is unnatural (it ISN'T for those that are gay!) then so is infertile people having sex (can't be for procreation either).
How are they 'not keeping the country alive'?? Aren't we overpopulated anyway. Maybe having gay people is NATURES way of keeping the population at sustainable levels.
How can someone fancy a hairy arsed guy? Dunno, but gay men do as do WOMEN! are they 'sick' too?

I find that attitude offensive. One of my friends is gay and he is the safest bloke you could meet. It threw me when I found out he was gay but half an hour down the pub showed me that hes the same person he was before he told me so why should it matter. It doesent.
And before the inevitable "astraboy's a shirtlifter" posts No I'm not gay.
I subscribe to the theory that was aired on the film trainspotting:
"Its all a question of who you fancy. Its all about asthetics, and **** all to do with morality"
So it stands to reason. I find Women bodies sexually attractive Mens bodies are fooking disgusting to look at.
Asthetics. **** all to do with morality.
astraboy.

To get back on Topic a bit.
Done this back in 98. Id only known her for a month or so. Worst thing is I actually think I had "proper"![Wink](images/smilies/wink.gif)
![Wink](images/smilies/wink.gif)
feelings for her before I found out. Can't remember how we 1st spoke about it, cos I was told by another guy. Its actually quite cool (can put it on the CV "Homo-Friendly" ![Big Grin](images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
![Big Grin](images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
)
I think it was easier that shes a Girl. Maybe sub consiously my mind slipped into "possibilty of a 3some here" mode![Big Grin](images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
![Big Grin](images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
Or maybe its that we could then become mates without worrying about whether we were trying to get each other into bed!
(Though for the record now I couldnt possibly **** her cos shes too much of a mate now
and it'd bugger everything up.

how sad that there are still so many biggoted people like claudius about. (no surprise there then).
The Majority of gay men dont choose to be gay, they are that way inclined genetically. My sisters best friend at junior school was a guy called Damian Baker. Damien used to play with the girls at school, had all the top girls toys and was always top fun at my sisters parties. I knew him from being 4 till 11. This young lad turned out to be one of the more famous gay men in the UK, He had the hit record the timewarp from the rocky horror show. Some of you may remember him from top of the pops. LOL A really great bloke who didnt choose to be gay, he just is.
If it werent for the contribution to society of gay men and women we would be in deap **** now. History is full of the positive influence gay people have had on our lives.
An Example......
If it werent for a guy called Alan Turing we would have probably lost WW2. He was the guy who cracked the enigma machine codes the german army and navy used to pass encripted orders. He was a brilliant mathematician, he invented the first mechanical computer in bletchley park, after the war he worked at Manchester University inventing the modern computer, he is the main reason you are sat in front of your PC comunicating your bigited ideas to the world...... Alan Turing was gay. http://www.turing.org.uk/turing
Despite all his brilliant work during the war and subsequently, he was put on trial in 1952 for being homosexual. He commited suicide 2 years later.
Now no matter what you may think personally about people being gay, do you really think society benefits from having them criminalised or living in fear because they happen to not conform to your ideal of hetrosexuality?
I have no problem with any of my friends being gay, or being straight or something in the middle
. Thats just the way they are. Thank god most of society isnt living under the laws acording to claudius.

Well said.
You forgot to mention the 100s of 1000s of men(mostly) who fought and died in both world wars despite being gay and running the risk of execution by their own side for their sexuality.
Being in the forces (where homosexualty was illeagal 'til '98) I found that most men's fears were based purely on ignorance - nothing else.
I once went to a work-mate's stag do - the big all-dayer, with a mate of mine who happened to be gay (he still is
). All my mates there, were unaware of his sexuality and spoke of him afterwards as being a top bloke, laugh, etc. which he is.
When I told them he lived with a man called Martin and they share a bed and house and have done for 5 years they thought I was taking the p1ss.
Perceptions can be dangerous.

I would have no problem with gay mates if they could take a bit of homour about it.
As a group of mates we take the **** out of each other, and if someone said he was gay, I guess we would take the **** a little.

Of course.
I take the p1ss out him all the time about gay stuff, and he calls my bird ugly - she's not; far from it, but he sees her more as a brother!

Shoot the *******. If you stand them in line you should be able to save a few bullets.
Just take a walk through the gay village in MCR and tell me that they are normal people. BOLLOX!
This country's so totaly fecked up it's unreal. I'm off to Monaco to join the hitler youth.
