Are People Really telling the truth ????????

When I bought the Legacy I did a bit of research and must have gone through every named Insurance company in the Insurance Forum.
My two biggest problems were
1) It's an Import
2) I use my 6 years NCB on my primary (read:Toy) car. I only had 1 years NCB on the car I was replacing with the Legcay, but don't know if they could take the other NCB into account in any way.
After a few hours the best deal came through from Fred Roberts - who placed it with Chaucer Insurance.
I'm 35, NCB as above, no points and got a quote (TPF&T) of £650. £200 XS and needed a cat 1 (which it already had).
They were considerably cheaper than other companies mentioned her. Worth a try.

Don't know how you've managed that Si
LV were Approx 1K fully comp, protected, mods etc for me
It just seems that the prices that LV are quoting are inconsistant from one driver to another.
I live in an Urban area, well outside city boundry and back onto a green belt
You've done well

Steve777, correct me if I'm wrong but you seem not to have posted where you live. Urban, edge of countryside, but not what town/city.
I think you should fess up. You're probably experiencing the effects of a bad insurance rating on your home town.

Just told Privilege about adding PPP to my STi.
Premium went up from £620 to £1100!!!!!
Luckily only 2 months to renewal, so I will be shopping around.
I am 40, full NCB, No points (don't know for how long ;0 ), live in semi-rural area, incl NCB protection and legal cover.

I own standard MY 01 WRX. I'm 32 with 9 year no-claims. The car is only insured for me. The main drawback is that its parked on the street in London.
Lots of insurers wouldn't touch me, but I'm with AXA at £1300

31yrs old - Swindon semi-rural(nice area - new post code)
WRX My01 Wagon 3pts motorway speeding, no acc or claims.
Including wife to drive, same age no points or claims.
Access to other car (wifes), parked on drive, approx 10k miles per year. SS back box = £820 Mar 2002
Changed to STI7 in July, standard car, same details as before extra £130.
So thats roughly £1000, but I suspect it would roughly equate to £820, taking out the fact that the STi is standard, and the increase is due to mid year swop when they have you by the ***** anyway!!!
PS Bell Direct.
At the time tried Schofields, LV, NU, Tesco, all expensive except Tesco, but their excess was high, mine was £100, now £300 on STI.
The silly thing is I work for a large insurance coy and get 40% off my premium. Cheapest they could do me was £1400 on the WRX !!!

Hugh, this one amazed me - Adrian Flux quoted (and we quickly paid) only £45 to put my wife on the STi as 2nd driver. =8-0
She has never driven anything quick before, and is currently revelling in the awesome power of her classic 2002Tii (as compared with her previous love, the Austin Allegro)
She does represent a very straight-laced class of driver, I suppose, but I'd have thought her lack of performance motoring experience would be expensive to insure in a Scoob. Not so!

Try this one for size as a bad quote:
26yrs old
5yrs no claims (although only 2 taken into account because the first 3 were with a company car
3pts SP50 June 2002
WRX MY02
Parked on Road ( ) in London - aarrggh
Edited to say - DIRECT LINE
a big fat £2,300 was the cheapest offer around
now let me hear YOU complain

Im 23, but took the insurance out when I was 22
Drive an import wrx 1994
4 years no claims. Had an accident but over 5 years ago so I didnt have to declaire it.
No points, convictions,
Kept in a garage!!!
Quoted for protected no claims
No Mods top disclose
£1320 TPFT subject to cat 1 alarm and a Traker.
Fully comp I think was about £1700, just over I think!!
As far as Im aware the excess is £250
From Privilege. www.privilege.co.uk
May not be a relivant quote for you. Just thought you could compare it to yourself. As if I was in my thirty's I would no way under any circumstance pay £1000 full comp.
Im due another year in a couple of months and they expect it to fall to about £1000-1100 this year TPFT (Not sure about fully comp)
I live in a low crime area, and I sware this is true. I will even proof it if called upon!!
Hope this helps
Ronnie

Just been talking to my insurance company and I have the reason why my insurance costs me over a grand at 36yrs
£100 Excess
Non Claims protected
Free windscreen repair and free side window exchange (Should one get damaged)
Free legal cover helpline (Award winning) + Legal expenses upto 100K
Medical expenses 250/person in car
Upto 5K in third party claims for injury.
Green card for Eurpoean travel - unlimited days (Most are restricted i.e allow you a booze trip yearly)
New car in the first year if you right off
Third party on any other car (This is something a lot of companies aren't giving you these days)
no extra charge for exhaust,PPP or other mods
And one of the biggest ones is if you have a driver over 25/clean license etc then they can be added onto your insurance FOC. So my Girlie who is 28, when she passes her test, she can jump straight into a 250BHP car without question (Odd one that???)
There's other stuff like homestart, breakdown cover (I now have three forms of breakdown cover AA,Insurance,Subaru Assistance !!!
I know that I can get the cost down going elsewhere but It depends whether you want quality or not.
Personally I want no quibble should I claim and this is what I get with CIS, so staying with them
