My car really looks the part now i'm well pleased with it..
Gonna drop my skirts and my facelift rear bumper off to my mate tomorrow to get them done.. only thing is my P1 bonnet is still blue
Got silver vents though

The P1/facelift bonnet is a slightly different design, it comes down a bit further at the front to meet with the facelift grill, the grills are very different and scoop is slightly different..

Did i mention that i have morettes fitted too

Dan, did you go for facelift headlights/grill?? the pre facelift bonnet didnt shut when i fitted the facelift grill..

Rob

p.s. my 4pots look like baby brakes now with the 18's on..

why put any badge on? Why not just leave it badgeless. Seen a pic with a car and a badgeless grill and quite liked it

Unhappy

I hit rock bottom today..!!!

Here is the story so far..!!

Had a miss hap in my car on the 12 of october having just paid 6 months road tax two weeks prior..! car costs £200 to get recovered... then i take it to a garage to get fixed using my own money as i dont want to put it back to standard to claim on insurance..

Then pay £600 for the parts needed from someone on here which take 1 month to arive.... parts arive and all are damaged/wrong, apart from some minor parts which were ok.. one part that came was bent worse than mine, so i ordered one from midland impreza, this arived and turned out not to fit..

So ive had to pay for new parts from subaru, which have only just been bought and supplied... Including new cam belt and front pullyeys..!

All parts get put on apart from my 19" wheel and tyre which i still need.. rang most places that sell the wheels only to be told they are not in stock anywhere and they dont have a delivery date for the next batch... I cant put my old wheels back on as they wont fit over my four pots and they are crap 15" wheels anyway...

I must be the most unlucky person ever..!!!

So anyone who know where i can get one team dynamics 19" wheel and pirelli p7000 215/35/19 tyre give me a shout..!

Dan

Sorry to hear that mate

'so i ordered one from midland impreza, this arived and turned out not to fit..' I hope that wasnt the My99 bumper?

Anyway, are you sure the alloy is beyond repair?, a local company near to me has repaired buckled and cracked alloy wheels.

As long as it is not flattened, you might be alright.

Anyway, their name is Lepson Wheels - Tel: 01634 580582

Here are some others as well,

To be honest i cant remember. I remember 2 clips at the top of the bumper (i think). It should still go on though!!

Have you asked another garage? If you were close to me, i would say pop in my uncles garage.

Well, we fitted mine yesterday. complete with an STI6 Splitter and a set of Fog Covers. Once I have some stickers for the covers, Ill post some pics.

Only minor problems I had were the air intake ducts were different, so im gonna order the right ones and the plastic wheel liner clips were easily broken. My advice, buy at least 5 spare clips before you start.

The major problem I had was probably because I only had a skin from the STI5 as the rear side brackets that hold the bumper to the underside of the wheel arch, are a different design to the early bumper. Ive not seen this mentioned before, but 10mins with my mig set made some brackets.

Does look nice though, and is no lower than the 3 peice splitter I had before, so it still clears kerbs, just!!

Where did you get the MY99 fog covers for £25? Do they fit over the OE fogs and do they have a bolt hole in the corner like the OE covers?

Cheers.

I made the brackets out of a strip of 3in by 1in metal, folded to a right angle to make a 1in and 2in lenght. I then drilled a hole in the 1 in side to coincide with one of the holes in the leading edge of the bumper and the secured it with a trim clip. This ten allowed me to dril and screw into the bracket.

I personally had to do this modification as my bumper was only the skin. It was also from a Rally car and had suffered some damage so its possible the fitting was broken off.

Having said that, I would suggest getting the rear side hangers from the 99 car to make sure. I am going to see about ordering some brake duct intakes from subaru, so Ill let you all know how much those and the brackets are new. you never know it might be cheap.

I got my brakets from Derek mailto: ETSracing@currantbun.com, they were £25 and bare plastic. They did not have any holes but I drilled my own and made some (more) brackets. When I fit the stickers, Ill put up some pics.

Quick Reply: does anyone know how much an MY99> front bumper is..?
