"but don't want to stifle their fun either. Weren't you a kid once ?. "

is that a question to me?

unusual for scoobnet but everyone seems to miss the point.
this is about a 7 yr old not being allowed to lob snow around while under school care. this isnt about falling of a horse.
anyone care to explain what is gained by having 5,6,7 yr olds sat wet in class? these are not teenagers who can be told to sit there wet and do their work- you ppl ever try to get a 6 yr old to oncentrate when they are wet and cold? its a pointless exercise that is not related to teaching kids about lifes hard knocks.

T

edit to add:

"btw,i also let him out in a cul-de-sac and have a snowball fight, and great fun it ws too!"

cool- he learnt one of lifes lessons then...."a time and a place..."

DISCLAIMERon't take this as an attack on all school teachers 'cos I know that a small proportion are actually OK.

SAD very,very SAD........

Schoolteachers in the UK are obsessed with control- probably because they don't really have any.(also all the people on Friends Reunited from my school who ended up being teachers were the bullied, nerdy ones-coincidence? I don't think so- it finally gives them the chance to control and bully)

Let the kids go out to play in the snow- let them throw snowballs, hell even let them fight with each other. If they get wet so what?????
Its called natural selection and even with all your rules some of the kids will be winners and some will unfortunately be life's losers.

Long live snowball fights, low level pranks and general badness -its what being a kids all about- not sitting like some dysfunctional gnome indoors around the TV/Playstation!

People have some very distorted values!

Cool

Quick addendum to my last comment about the teachers being the nerdy/bullied/losers from school. THIS DOES NOT APPLY TO SPORTS TEACHERS-

My cousin and some old school friends are now "PE teachers" or whatever crappy PC name they get these days. They werent bullied and nerdy- they were doing the bullying of the nerdy pupils!
I'm glad to say they are carrying on this proud tradition today in the heart of our education system- enforced cross country runs in the cold and wet, murder ball and joining in schoolboy rugby games.

Long live the sports teacher- bringing pain and misery to the new generation!

I have been riding big bikes for 20 years now and I still get a rush from redlining my Ninja. You wouldn't take it that far on the bike, because you would get proper training in how to handle it and you would have too much respect for the performance. Until your hanging off the back of the bars with a handfull of throttle, you can't imagine how hard they accelerate

Fantastic thread

I have nothing to add other than agreement for all those having fun and Tiggs..... oh well.

I was suspended (ended up only being for a day after grovelling apology from my mum) when in the midst of a playground snowball fight, all the other kids had enough sense to notice the depute-head (he was the w4nk, the head was ok) was on the warpath... apart from me, who was too busy hardening this snow-ball into a brain crushing icey

Caught Mr Finlayson right on the scone to the cheers of the whole playground... bad aim me

We used to go up the army ranges and collect cordite and thunderflashes then chuck them around at school and it never done me any harm...... well apart from severe suicidal tendancies, 16 murder convictions, 13 counts of Arson, 12 aggravated assaults etc

Times have changed for the worse.

Let kids sit in class with wet trousers, I can still remember the chill blanes and me legs stinging
