STiG,
don't give in to the cowardly thieving scum
If you sell your car you will lose many thousands in depreciation - why not trade this for some useful security???
You can get diskloks, barrier deadlocks, blackjaxs, trackers, smoke etc for your car, and for less that a hundred quid you can install a CCTV camera with an 8-hour LP video in your house/garage/whatever.
Unfortunately land-mines and razor-wire around the throat are probably illegal, but there are still plenty of things on the right side of the law.
A Scooby is no more at risk than a BMW/Merc/School-run-4*4, and what next? No more widescreen TV or StayPlaytions in case someone takes a fancy?
Enjoy life, take sensible precautions, and don't let the *******s grind you down!!!!

...for what it's worth ,for some car alarms/car with c/l you can fit a module to lock the doors after the engine has been started for a few secs.,not foolproof but every little bit etc...
any more ideas?...to add..the only way to stop this that i can see is either get a tracker and advertise the fact on your car(not ideal) or achieve full tracker coverage(probably only achievable through insurance companys not quoting for cars with no tracker ,which,if things continue at this rate may be pretty soon....lets hope so eh???)
