Yeah but they dont look like STI lights. I think that Burr was trying to say. They just look all red. The STI lights are half red and half white

nice - but I think I prefer the clear lenses.

BUT - with a £220 (ish) price difference, I'm now wondering

I'll see what the final price for the group buy is gonna be.

Are the lights different for 4-door and 5-door cars?

Burr,
as far as i know the lights are exactly the same on both models.

<hijack mode on>
i note that you are from wakefield - have only been there once and that was to go to a photo shoot with david batty for match magazine at the leeds training ground. i was on work experience with a PR company in london and went up there on one day of it. the nippers who should have appeared in the shoot never turned up, so muggins here was issued a football shirt and had to kick a ball around with batty, whilst a photographer snapped happily! all very amusing - got inside front cover and page 2. 15 pics of batty and 16 of me. first and probably last appearance in a national publication. lol.

sorry to hijack, but always laugh when i hear of wakefield, as that day will always stick in my mind - pmsl the whole way there and back as bloke i was with was hilarious!

nice country side if i remember rightly?
<hijack mode off>

a friend of mine who is computerless, wants some of the lights for his series mcrae. any ideas as to how much discount there will be and also a rough figure? he intends to buy in the very near future, so this could work out to be quite good timing.

cheers

weava

I assume you've picked up my interest from your Scoobycity post, but as you've got a nice list going on here, would you mind adding my name to it all the same

Cheers

If you buy these lights make sure that when removing the old ones, you take it really easy. The sealant is un-believably sticky and one of my mates, cracked his old lens getting them out. You can remove the bolts and the lens will feeling like it's still bolted in.....Nightmare

So your old ones will be stuck fast and after you'll probably have a water leak.....Loads of drama

A top tip when removing and refitting the rear cluster is to use a hairdrier to heat the sealant - it becomes much nicer to work with...

Kenny,yes they do,but,if you have a UK car you can use your existing r/h bulb holder assy.
....Paint your existing fog lamp bulb red and insert where the reverse light is.(i passed an MOT like that)

...i'm fairly certain that wagon clusters differ from the saloon,but stand to be corrected

Wagon and Saloon clusters are different!!

I think my mate used warm water to remove mine. The hair dryer sounds like a great idea. Warm the STi ones up before fitting and they may seal properly

I haven't bothered sorting my fog lamp out yet, as painting one of the reverse lights is **** IMHO. I was thinking about using the back part of my UK lights and fitting the STi lens to it. Any thoughts on doing this ?

Phill, there shouldnt be any difference between the two backings.. it is just the glass/bulbs that differenciate between the two..
I'm also sure that the lights differ between the saloon and 5dr.

Just finished fitting a set to mine. The hair dryer proved an essential tool (thanks to SecretAgentMan). I heated the general area (good opportunity for a *** break) and with a little gentle force the originals slipped out.
To re-seal the STi ones i used common household silicon sealer.
Job done
While i was at it i finished off the clean look by removing the Impreza Turbo 2000 sticker. (that hair dryer is ace).

There is another way to do a rear fog with the STI lights. See the Lighting forum and my topic

Well they were £195 all in for the Lexus lights! lol

They gave me the wrong price! But should let me know by today if they can do any better.

To be honest, i dont think we are going to get them cheaper than 230 all in. I think they are about £150 from Japan then there is vat, shipping and import etc on that! So they aint making much
