Does anyone else get fed up with the ABS

I believe most manufacturers tell you to plant your foot hard with ABS and not try to modulate it. Just bang the middle pedal and keep it there. Trust the system

Have same issue with my WRX 03 and it's been that way since new, so unless the tyres are crap then it must be an over sensitive system - my previous car nor any other car I've driven – has ever had this issue.
I tend to notice it on my daily commute just as I'm approaching the odd speed bump. I'm not going too fast - say 30 - and when I bake gently to 20 the front brakes get in a mess. I can't brake fully as I'm only trying to slow down not stop and don’t want the estate agent in the black 318 up my ****.
Bloody annoying but ABS is essential for me.
