**** Scooby and Cosworth in Wrong Car, Right Car tonight 8:30 BBC2 ****

the gliders were in it cos she worked there, or played there, hence her 'glider club' top.
lookswise on the girl: bit rough and wobbly in the middle. Not my bag but hey.
lookswise on the cars: like comparing a slightly sedated rally car to a jap saloon; hence her preference for the cossie (along with many others in the last 5 pages). Think you may be a tad biased to the scoob on that front SB Your perogative though.
That little Renault sounded and went quite nicely though. nice price too

<flame suit firmly on!!!>
Of all the cars on there I would have made the same choices too The scoob was a bit bland (sorry) against the cosworth, if the budget was that much why didn't they use a better spec scoob? A wrx or type R (if you can get them for that money) would possibley sway it the scoobs way then. The escort did look very pricey though

Just found this so some answers to your guesses.
Her gran left her the money.
She has been driving since the age of 10 (Under 17 Car Club - google it) and was driving a Delta HF Turbo at 14.
She had a Suzuki TS50 at 16 and passed her car test on her 17th birthday. At 17 she had a AXGT at 18 she had the R5 Turbo.
It was when she was left the money by her Gran that she decided to try and get a Cossie/Scooby/Evo.
That was the only Scooby they could get hold of for filming (it was needed for 2 weeks) and they couldn't get a Lancer Evo at all, so used the Pajero to fill in.
As they couldn't find a Cossie in time for filming the one they used was the Ford museum collection car - the last RHD one off the line.
The gliding club was a last minute location - no idea why they used it - she hadn't been there before or since and didn't even go up in a glider - I had her freebie flight, she had the t-shirt.
The WRC car was a last minute surprise that Ford laid on as a "treat" it was Juha Kankuhnen's championship winning car and they let a 23 year old "girl" drive it in the wet on slicks and didn't care when she spun it.
The Well Lane car was a very suspect one indeed and the report on it had "There is a serious mileage discrepancy" written across the front - it was apparently last owned by a serving Police Officer.
The "bargaining" at Well Lane was a set up and the guy knew exactly what was going on, the other one in the Renault dealer wasn't - they gave the job to a new junior salesman as a test and didn't tell him what was going on.
She bought a Cosworth from a small dealer in Norfolk between the filming (Sept 03) and the broadcast (Jan 04). It was far better than the Well Lane one and for £10k - she still has it.
FC insurance cost her £880 in 2003 when she was 24, it currently costs her about £250.
She also now has an X5, a 1972 Beetle, a Stilo and a ZXR400 - and two daughters.
HTH.

Dunno if I count as a friend if I'm her Dad - anyone who has had a teenage daughter will know what I mean.
I found the thread purely by accident and just thought you all might like the answers to your questions.

My thoughts exactly! But then they are probably insecure about their own problems and are hiding behind a username and keyboard.
