tizard99 what do you mean by the "older shape" UK 300? they only did the one version ?
Ok some figures quoted by Autocar
STi Type R 22B Top speed 149mph
0-60 5.0sec
Standing 1/4 13.7 sec
50-70 in 5th 5.8 sec
30-70 through gears 5.0 sec
Average fuel cons 20mpg
P1 Top speed 155mph
0-60 4.7sec
standing 1/4 13.9
50-70 in 5th 6.8
30-70 through gears 4.8
Average fuel cons 19.5mpg
Not a lot in it, but if you want a car to use day to day then its got to be a P1, if you want a car for the weekend that the rest of us Impreza drivers(and most of the Evo drivers) will WOW over then get the 22B.

I'm no expert but aren't Evo's much more expensive to run than Scobby's
In terms of Evo's being heavier on wear and tear items, i.e.brakes, tyres, clutches etc under the same conditions, also servicing is more expensive I beleive.

never believe a magazines performance figures unless they show you photos of the car with the timing gear in it!
and even then beware that they are prone to bribary.
On top of that even if they are 100% accurate, they arent consistent and the percentage error is enormous when comparing 0-60.
To be honest t makes a mockery of performance cars.
oh and tone, LOL, hysterical maccie d's quote!
