I think the RS is a more track related car, although not driven one (that's based on the numerous magazine articles of recent) and is another £3k more than the R. The cupra r has a better interior to live with, and IMHO better value for money too.

Well, drove the Leon 20VT Cupra on Saturday, and it is far better than the ST170. So, Mrs T-S has ordered one, in catsick yellow, it should be here next week

(and managed to haggle a grand off - from a main dealer, too).

Thumbs up

Nice one Dave, I won't bother testing the ST170 then.

Only a grand Dave, you must have had a bad day.

Did you go for the "R" ?

The ST170 is wobbly without the ESP, and nobody has a demo round here with ESP on! Doh!

Russell
Allegedly Seat dealers only get 8% margin on a Cupra. £1000 was 8%, i.e. all his margin

No point in going for the R, as hardly worth getting rid of the STi for the price differential then.
