Scooby import,
Had a look at your car on the other thread, its a cracker, really like that shape MR2 as well, unfortunately I need something thats cheap to insure and easy on the go-go juice. 'Fraid another turbo'd import is a nono.
Thnx for the offer anyway
Cheers
Dougie
Ps Is my price too cheap that everyone thinks it must be a dog? Seen ones a year newer and people are lookin for over 8K. I am getting hardly any interest for under 6k
oh well

It should be 260bhp standard I think, anyone feel free to correct me. Never had it on a rolling road tho' so maybe the HKS induction kit and the '95 WRX map would make a difference?

D8UGF,
I think you'll find that 94 Sti's had 250BHP, I had an STi1, which was manufactured in 1994 but it had a strut brace which said STi on it, it also had a numbered plaque under the bonnet, it had a high level spoiler which was an orignal item. I think you may find your car is just a standard wrx. I'm quite sure all sti's were numbered, does it have an sti logo on the front seats?

Cyberevo,
I stand corrected. 250ps it is then. Pretty sure my car is an STi, been thru this with a few of the lads on this thread:
http://www.scoobynet.co.uk/bbs/thread.asp?ThreadID=131800&Page=1
There are too many of the major components on my car for it not to be an STi. I dont have the high spoiler or the strut brace, but these were only limited to the early runs ( non factory). As was the numbered plaque.
All my engine numbers, chassis numbers and option codes all match the Types on the FAQ site.
Some more info:

Gearbox was close ratio with quickshift. Stronger front and rear differentials with heavy duty drive shafts. Genuine 150mph car with 0-60 time of 4.6secs, and a 50-70mph time of less than 3 seconds.
Suspension was die cast aluminium lower front wishbones which reduce weight. Carbon fibre strut brace, stiffened Sti springs and dampers.
Bodywork had aluminium boot and bonnet to reduce weight.
The car was full AC climate control, electric folding mirrors and full electric windows. Early editions kept the front spotlights and an Sti logo on the front spoiler. They also had split rims alloys and the legendary pink and aluminium front strut brace. Larger rear spoiler, higher than most of the later Sti’s.
Later editions had blank plates where the spotlights were, gold alloys and clear indicator rear lenses.
Ps If it aint one I've got a strong case against the garage I bought it from 5 years ago.
Cheers

D8UGF, saw your motor last week in South Queensferry tucked away in a nice parking spot. Had a quick look around it....top motor, and in v.good nick. BTW the earlier STI's didn't have high level spoilers and it looks in original condition. Someone should snap this up cos it's a genuine bargain....

Al,
thanks very much mate, getting a bit fed up of some of the sniping thats going on in this thread. If people have any queries or suggestions I wish they would do it by e-mail and not in public. Think it will make people think this isnt a genuine car.
Yep that was me , I was at my works closing night in the queensferry arms, felt a bit bad about parking in that space, but it was later on at night so my conscience is a bit clearer
Is it a Subaru you drive as I might have seen you around, see a few scoobys now and then but not sure if they come on here.
Cheers

Know what you mean...some of the replies obviously came from people that don't know their cars, and your also correct in the fact that they should keep their comments, if not positive, offline as it can discourage buyers. Well I've seen it and would buy it if I didn't have one already. I have a WRX in silver with a few mods...Trust zorst, kgmm suspension, remapped ECU, HKS induction, some new wheels, spoiler etc etc.. Give us a wave!!!
