Luke, I understand perfectly. You are giving bad and unbalanced advice. I am trying to redress the balance.

Just admit it, your approach is badly thought out, unhealthy and without good foundation.

I am trying to help people who seriously want to lose weight. If you can't see that, and accept good advice when it's offered, then you are more short-sighted and pig-headed than I thought.

Losing weight and keeping it off is difficult enough without having to deal with poor advice.

This whole thread was about fun ...not point scoring.
You popped up could not understand the whole tone of the thread .
There's fun and there's very iffy advice. You go tell your doc or a well trained & experienced member of the fitness team at a local gym that you can lose a stone in a week. They'll flip!

Thumbs up

I am all for anyone trying to adapt to a more healthy lifestyle. I think it's a great thing to do and anyone doing it deserves respect. It's not easy though, and it takes time. All the myths, bad advice and 'quick fixes' just make it more difficult.

Question

Luke, see, someone else thinks you posted iffy advice? Which charity are you going to send the £500 to then?

Where did I give advice ??? we are all just getting on with our lives and having fun.

If you realy want. You pay all the costs and FULLY INSURE YOURSELF.

I will give you 3-4 days notice and take you away for 7-10 days. You will do exactly what I/we will do. You will come home a stone or more lighter and wrecked. If your not dead.

Luke, get a grip ffs, you cannot lose a stone of fat in a week.

As already mentioned in several of the links I have posted, that much weight loss in such a short space of time will be mostly water and muscle.

Offering to show people how to drop so much weight so quickly consitutes dangerous advice in my book. You did not say it was dangerous until I started pointing it out. Now you are trying to say otherwise in direct opposition to the evidence.

My point is that you never said it was dangerous, not that you said it would be fat. I won't be trying it because I know it can't be fat and will be dangerous and pointless.

Show me where you said that trying to lose a stone in a week is dangerous. You can't because you didn't.

You admitted that fad diets 'can cause problems' but at no time did you say that trying to lose a stone in a week is dangerous.

You even offered to show people how to do it, also without mentioning the risk!

Losing a stone of fat is healthy Sal, yes, assuming one needs to lose it, but it cannot be lost in a week. It's not possible. Trying to lose that amount of weight in that timeframe is dangerous. End of story.

"Show me where you said that trying to lose a stone in a week is dangerous. You can't because you didn't. "

I said again and again and again.......... "I came home wrecked."

What was that ment to mean to most???? a reccomendation??!!!

I did not say "diet".... I said I lost weight.

You said

true fad diets can cause problems. I lose my weight when "Working" abroad and not eating very much. Have come home wrecked.
That does not say you were wrecked from losing a stone in a week. Specifically it says that you were wrecked from 'working' abroad and not eating much, you make no mention of the fact that this was the occasion during which you lost a stone in a week.

Only since I pointed out that trying such a foolish thing is dangerous, have you been trying to claim that's what it means.

You did not specifically point out that losing a stone in a week is dangerous and you offered to show people how to do it. I still say that's offering dangerous advice, or at the very least, offering to give dangerous advice.

Question

You are now trying to tell me that "true fad diets can cause problems" does not include the word "diet"?

Do you actually read what you post?

Why? Don't you have enough to enable you to maintain your grip on reality? I'm told this is what happens when you take too many; you need more and more to function normally. Looks like you haven't taken enough yet.

Question

Which of us is more likely to be on drugs? The one spouting sh1te and trying to claim what he said means something other than what is says? Or the one presenting rational arguments and evidence to support what she is saying?

Tricky one, I know, but I'm sure if you ask nicely, someone will help you work it out.

Yes, it'd be hard being proved wrong all the time, although in time you might actually learn something.

No need to worry though, I wouldn't have anything to do with you if you were paying me.

Apparently not, since I said I wouldn't have anything to do with you even if you were paying me. Or is that too difficult for you to understand?

You need to read it again then, it quite plainly says I wouldn't do it for money.

You really are clutching at straws now, aren't you?
