Craig, my main issue was with him claiming to have lost a stone in a week and offering to tell other people how to do it, as if it was a good thing. It wasn't until I pointed out that a stone in a week would not be fat loss, so would be pointless, and to attempt to lose such an amount of weight in such a short period of time is dangerous, that he started trying to back-pedal and say that he didn't say that at all.
One of his posts actually said, "Come with me on a journey...and I will show you how to looses (sic) a stone in a week". Just that, nothing else.
If that's not offering dangerous advice, or at the very least offering to give people dangerous advice, I don't know what is.
Still, far too much has already been said on this and I'm not going to drag it out any further. Unless new advice/information is posted, I will not be responding again.

Tel, I am not saying that a stone cannot be lost in a week, I am saying a stone of fat cannot be lost in a week.
IMO, anyone losing a stone in weight in a week has lost mostly fluid and muscle. I'd guess your case might be a bit different because you were presumably training at the same time.

Drac got picky and pointed out that liposuction can remove a stone of fat in minutes.
I said that 1 stone is more than the recommended maximum removal during liposuction, and I backed it up with a link.
Even with liposuction, it is not possible to lose a stone of fat in a week. Since it is not possible to lose a stone of fat in a week, except in the very unusual and specific circumstances that Tel is mentioning, there is no benefit to anyone of trying to lose a stone in a week.

TurboKitty,
It's down to interpretation. That says to me he will take you somewhere where you will lose the weight regardless - climbing in Borneo or some hostile humid environment. That's why I don't see the issue because that's the way I'm looking at it - it's a situation where you will lose weight but I'm not sure if the original post was even serious?
Telboy,
Didn't you get dehydration headaches? That'd be a killer for me - need to drink at least 2 litres a day, normally more.

As well as being an overweight man with an higher than average bodyfat content because of your ludricous dieting method, you're also a very very sad man for posting that pic.
I've Nothing but contempt for you now.

Right, so to draw some comments together...
We ALL agree you can't lose a stone of fat (without major surgery) in a week, right? Good!
Because you simply cannot.
Craig, no not really. But then i was in such a bad mood at being so fekkin hungry i wouldn't have noticed!!

Luke, I know you did not say that the stone you lost was fat. My point all along has been if it wasn't fat why offer to show anyone how to do it? People who talk about losing weight want to lose fat, not weight per se.
By saying you can lose a stone in a week could mislead people into thinking it is possible to lose a stone of fat in a week. There are "miracle" product suppliers that claim such things are possible, and people are continually taken in. Many people are desperate to lose weight and it tends to make them gullible. I did not want anyone left in any doubt that you were not talking about fat loss.
Btw, please quit with the personal jibes before the thread gets deleted again. Thanks.

TurboKitty,
I can see where you're coming from, but Luke is only trying to get people motivated. They don't neccessarily have to follow his instruction but use his method of weight loss and healthy eating along with their own ways and it could prove successful. He is merely expressing his right to use these message boards and try to help other people. I wonder if it irritates you? I know I get cheesed off when I am adamant people are going the wrong way about things (even if they aren't).
Instead of ripping each other, why not add suggestions which would improve the effectiveness of the diet? I'm sure that would be a lot more popular than folks having a go at each other![Big Grin](images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
Loo
P.S I'm not being rude. I reckon this thread could be very help a lot of people like myself who have gained a few pounds over the festive season
