Come and give it a go I use a 56K modem and get a ping of around 180 - 220 on good UK servers. Ask BT to increase your line gain you may see a slight improvement.

Anybody know what the time advantage that a ping of 20 and ping of 200 is ? is it around 1/5 second ????

Good to see you on UK2.net 022 De_dust server yesterday afternoon. Hope you had a good session. As you see a good ping is not always the advantage. You showed a wall or two a good pasting. Though you were the last Terrorist playing most of the time.
Next time try a beginners server like UK2.net 100 and something or other. All UK2.net servers ending in over 100 are beginners servers. Though not all players are beginners but they soon get chucked off after 10 or so kills.

What thaye said above. Top T scorer on a server I visited Monday eve for half hour had a ping of 200.

oh i ditched my supraexpress decent 56k modem coz my old mboard only had pci slots. now i have a new mboard with a couple of isa's on it is it worth "repossesing" my supraexpress and ditching my cheap pci modem (software decompression or something) i have a athlon 1200 with 256mg ram?
