LOL @ Neil! Mine's in the CD player too....and I will be moving it to the car for the drive to the airport.
I called my wife at work to say about playing it and grinning like a loon ....turns out she'd never heard it as akid and really didn't get why I was grinning so much!
I'll indoctrinate her!!

Great thread!!
Its surprising how many people have never heard of War of the Worlds!!!
I always remember looking through the LP booklet pictures for hours whilst listening to it (see my pic on page 2). Still sends a shiver down my spine when i hear it.
Think i'll get myself the CD version this weekend!!!!!!!!

Was it me or was the lady in the green dress a babe(the one running away from the fighting machine)? Shame about the blood etc on her face, but at the tender age of 13 she was deffo a babe...

My 5yr old son can't sleep now. He'd sat listening to it in the other room while it was on in my office. Now he's scared of Martians drinking blood from people.
What have I done

Not sure if this has been mentioned before, but I work in Woking and if I remember correctly this is close to where the Martians landed (Horsell common and Mayberry)
In Woking they have a street with a shinny Martian at one end, the capsule that landed at the other and the block paving has the virus's that wiped them out.
Here you go
Also I have the full vinyl version a highlights version on vinyl and the cd, vinyl originally played on a Linn Axis, Akito and K9, Regar Amp (can't rermember which), Mission 751's. Now played with the Linn or Exposure, Musical Fidelities and Epos's
