I thought I recognised the name, just found a copy of Revs from July 2000. I believe that's the same Stef? (Cossies v Imprezas shootout)

Hi Red.
Yeah, that's me. I've lost my copy of that actually, and I couldn't remember what issue it was so thanks for that!
It was a great day for Scoobs, and it was also at the height of the Scoob vs Cossie banter that was going on here and on the RS Owners board.
We all performed great on the day, and I was obviously delighted with the 0-60 time of 4.5 secs from my MY98 with only breathing mods (and an AP clutch)

Simo.
Not got the RR yet, driving a 5 series at the mo! Unfortunately, not an M though ..........yet.

S.

PS
Regarding my somewhat infamous driving style, I'd just to clarify a few things to people who maybe don't know and may have heard or read somewhat inaccurate statements.....
I had never driven on a track before I got my Scoob, and to me it was as much of a track day car as my every day workhorse. I therefore considered that the track was the place to drive the car to, and often beyond, it's limts in a relatively safe environment.
In all the track days I attended, including trips to The Ring, I only damaged my car twice, at Donno and at Coombe. The incident at Donno genuinely wasn't my fault and despite the damage I continued in the afternoon session, some people were even mad enough to climb over the driver's seat (passenger door wouldn't open) to park their butt on my passenger seat for rides!!!
I have visited the gravel on numerous occasions, most famously (and embarrasingly) at Trax 2000, which Duke Video very kindly included in their 'History of the Impreza' video. Like I said before though, better the gravel trap than someone's lounge!
To some people it may have seemed like I was simply reckless, to others I was a gifted driver on the edge.
Whatever people's opinion of my driving, I enjoyed every moment of Scoob ownership and the community it created on this and other boards. With the amount of threads now on this board, it is apparent that some of the old community spirit has clearly gone, with commercial interests becoming more prevalent. It's good to see that some of the old skool are still around keeping the flame burning, and I hope the new owners are as enthusiastic as we used to be. Track days seem to be well run by Muddy and I hope they're still as popular as they were when I organised them. I may well pop along to one soon....

S.

I was also thinking of the warmer weather trip, which was equally as fun

My Favorite quote from young master Askew was 'It's rubbish, you've been had...I'm going to bed' at which point he fell over a 3 inch high wall and passed out flat on his back

Stef had already left because he had a fit of the giggles

Oh, and I though he was meant to look like Bepe...

Who's that bloke waving then?

Thumbs up

I'll have to dig out my "Cossiekiller at the Ring" video!!

I often wonder what happened to the old names.
Dave T-S and Sunilp (Sunlip in Dave's words!) will be back next.

Exclamation

DTS is still about, but he drives a ladies car now - a Forester XT - and is working on a building site. He also answers to the name of Davina now too, but that's a different story

Mungo.
I still get people asking about the video. I've been meaning to do a sequel for some....oooh....five years or so now!!
I've still got the tapes and some of the newer footage is just awesome.
Hmmmm.....

Floyd.
Yeah, sorry about that. Still, it's the organisers birth right to stop a session if he sees fit!
