I'm also an ardent Mac user. Have been since 1987.

Scoobyboy, the switch issue is well known and Apple have released a revised switch which I had fitted to my cube which now performs faultlessly. If its over a year old I'm not sure how Apple would handle this as they didn't officially declare this as a fault. I'll see what I can find out tomorrow.

Apple have recently dropped powerbook pricing by a few hundred quid and have got an offer that give you a rebate from Apple when you buy a Lexmark printer of Canon DV camera. Makes them even more tempting..mmmmm.

I'm in Paris for the Apple Expo at the end of September so I'll let you know what developments come from this. No major hardware upgrades expected until October.

G3 iMac DV SE (or + can't remember). Got it alongside and networked together with my PC and NT server. The missus uses it for web design (Dreamweaver/Fireworks 4, Photoshop). And for her MP3s...

I use it for DV editing: bought a DVin enabler for my Sony camcorder so I can ship footage onto the Mac, edit it, then ship it back again, all digitally.

good to see there are a few of us rebels on scoobynet!

got to admit to being lured to the dark side though, had to get suzy a pc, as that's what the kids use at school, and I really don't want to get a nice new G4 and have to make it suffer by running VPC on it, think it'd die if I did that. Plus it does mean I can access some games not on mac (yet)
