What do you eat in a day???
#32
I think DOB is probably an important factor - I used to eat 3 big meals, half a dozen choccie bars, a couple of bags of crisps, about 10 cups of coffee (2 sugars) and have 6 or 8 pints of an evening and stay at 12 1/2 stone. Now I don't take sugar in my coffee but have gradually crept up to 13 stone. I put this down to being over 30

p.s.
Whilst studying i had a coursework that was record everythink for a week..we fed it in the governments computer and it worked out every vitamin, mineral etc that was taken in. Bitter gives you all you need in those terms and energy you would be able to live fine on it as many tramps do only prob is the lack of fibre plays havoc with your internals and well you'd be pissed all the time

James....the thing is thats the exact opposite of healthy eating. You're supposed to eat more in the morning/lunch and less at night. Also wont you're bodys metabolism slow down making it harder to lose weight.
Not much fun feeling hungry either

I don't actually think I have a metabolism anyway. I'd weigh 30 stone if I ate half of what some of this lot eats.
If I started eating in the morning I know I'd just keep eating all day
Healthy or not, right or wrong - it seems to be working a treat

hmmmmmm, yesterday I had:
A cheese and mushroom omelette on a roll & 3 Cartons of Ribena. Countless cups of tea (decaf). 10-15 Cigarettes. 1 piece of chewing gum.
Thats a typical day for me. sometimes have a big roast pork dinner. Not very healthy me thinks.

James, it will work in the short term, but it will be *very* short term. You are destroying your metabolism and you're running the risk of your body breaking down muscle, (including your heart), to feed itself. The way you are going about this will mean that when you do start eating again, you're pretty much guaranteed to pile all the weight back on plus a bit extra, and you're making it more difficult for yourself to lose it the next time. You are to be respected for trying to lose weight - it's not an easy thing to do - but please, reconsider how you are going about it.
The tips for sensible weight loss I posted in a recent thread that got deleted were:
- be more active (to boost your metabolism)
- eat little and often (again to keep your metabolism up)
- never skip breakfast (breakfast is essential to a decent metabolism)
- drink plenty of water
- get enough rest, not getting enough sleep hinders weight loss
- aim for a balanced diet, cut out junk food and wasted calories such as alcohol
By all means see your doctor or a dietician for more advice, but please, don't continue trying to lose weight by not eating.

I think TK is right. The whole key to weight loss is exercise and cutting out junk food......NOT starving yourself.
Easy to say i know,i find exercise rather boring.

James, , I doubt it'd kill you overnight, but most anorexics who die do so from heart failure as a result of the damage their illness does to their hearts.
If you want to lose the weight and keep it off, you need to be aiming to make changes you can keep up long term. This doesn't mean you can never eat pizza again, for example, but you do need to moderate intake of such foods.
Good luck.

Right, might as well add my 2p worth. A typical day is:-
Breakfast
Shredded Wheat or Wheatabix (3 of ) + Semi-Skimmed Milk + Banana
Apple
Glass of Orange Juice
2 slices of toast (wholemeal bread) + Low Fat Margarine + Jam
Cup of tea
Mid-morning snack
Banana
Orange
Non-Fat Yogurt
Energy Bar
Energy Drink
Lunch
Soup
Couple of Bread rolls
Some kind of pasta dish (e.g. tuna/pasta, pasta/cheese bake, etc.)
Non-fat Yogurt
Apple
Energy Drink
Mid-Afternoon Snack
Banana
Energy bar
Energy Drink
Dinner
Whatever my mum/dad is making, so varies from Lamb Chops, Chicken, Pasta, Goulash, whatever. I just make sure it has rice or roast/baked potato and plenty of veg (carrots, green beans, peas, etc..)
Glass of Semi-skimmed Milk
Energy Drink
Evening Snacks
Usually just stick to fruit or some toast
I drink plenty of water throughout the day and mix it with some orange squash for taste.
I'm at the gym 5-days a week before lunch for an hour and usually go for a 4-mile run 3 times per week before dinner. I'll do some interval training on another day too and Sunday I'm usually hill walking in the Scottish Mountains.
Sunday I might have a fry-up if I'm out walking. 8hrs walking usually burns off 4000+ calories, so I need it; and it tastes too good

Many years ago I used to run long distance cross country, at least 5 miles a day everyday, and cycle about 30 miles a day too
Im 34 now, but ive always had a high metabalism, and can eat for england too pretty much most of the time
