www.plus.net but I would say that ;-)
Other than that, go for what fits your requirements not what other people say, remember its you who is going to be using the connection not us.

Ok can all the NTL employees now stop replying!
Terrible service, ****e customer services. I had a problem with my connection , it took them over a week to come out and check the box outside my house. After they had forgot the order, after constant telephone calls. Terrible terrible terrible, but I'm stuck with them till the consumer association does something about the monopoly that Broadband companies hold!

SB:
No - the decription says: "Equipped with a 10Mbps Ethernet WAN port for connecting to an ADSL/Cable modem " meaning you need a modem as well
what you need is an out and out Ethernet routerwhich goes straight into your filter/spliter which then goes into your phone socket
So does one of these go near the phone socket and i plug both computers into it?

Another happy Pipex customer here.
And as for hardware recommendations...
You've got two machines to connect, therefore your options are:
i) Modem on one machine, "shared" with the other machine. I wouldn't recommend this as the machine with the modem on has to be up all the time, and it's inefficient.
ii) Modem + router + hub. Will allow each machine to connect independantly to the internet, but you end up with 3 devices when really all you need is...
iii) Combined ADSL router/hub, which will plug straight into your phone line, and give you 4 ethernet connections. The up-to-date ones also give basic firewall features, with port forwarding and address translation aswell. Try here for a good example.
Or if you're feeling really flush...
iv) Combined ADSL router/hub/wireless access point, which would allow you to use your laptop from anywhere in the house (you'll need a wireless LAN card), without any nasty CAT5 cables draped up your stairwell. Look here for an example. This is by far the coolest solution, and not THAT expensive. DSLSource also do a promotion pack that will give you all the connectivity you need.
Hope this helps.
