Agreed...good report...Drove the STi8 PPP very well - gave the car good street cred to people watching...

BTW, that guy driving the BMW at the start, is he gay?

The driver is Darren Manning, a CART driver for Walker Racing. He sure loved flicking it around that chicane!!

Red face

Good footage...he was giving it a bit of welly around the corners. But listen there's no need to doughnut it?We all know it can be done but it gives it that boy racer tag.

7 Foot was right, even though the presenter liked the changes, said the bugeye was good vaue, he still went for the classic.Wise choice.

What he actually said, was that for someone on a budget, the classic was the preffered choice.

Unhappy

Well like the most of us (99%) we are on a budget so you can take that anyway you like.
It was good seeing the scoob get some decent press.

Well ok... but the point I was trying to make, is that I got the impression that he thought the 03 was an improvement on previous models, and that if one's budget couldn't stretch to the new car, the classic shape Impreza is still an excellent machine.

Ah see what you were saying..
Listen if i had the budget (or no budgets to be precise)the STI8 with full PPP would be up there on my Xmas list.
But then i drive a classic MY00 and love the shape but would like some of the interior/exterior improvments that come with the new style in my car.
Good program but i was distracted by the batty boy in the BMW.Why oh Why does he think leather driving gloves are a good idea.Maybe cos they matched the interior.MUPPET

That was a rather painfull section of the show... perhaps Tiff Needell (spelling?) should give him a few pointers on REALLY playing with the back end. This guy seemed to be enjoying it so much, but I don't think I ever saw it even remotely sideways lol...

Seem to recall countless occasions when Tiff has been doughnutting all sorts of exotica. Don't really think we can slap the fella for that. He certainly can drive.

Doh... nooooo... I was referring to the BMW guy that SwissTony mentioned at the end of his post, not Subaru guy.

That Darren fella drove the STi very well, I thought. Sustained slides, quick direction changes, and a very, very quick donut or two. I was most impressed. And it was nice that the classic was a sportswagon...

Shame about the Beemer hairdresser man, though. Playing with the backend? My ****! (No pun intended). I drive better than that and I sadly couldn't slide on a pair of ski's...

But he did have a tremendous pair of driving gloves... Oh dear.

Wink

The gimp in the purple leather suit certainly doesn't give us BMW drivers a very good name. He couldn't drive for toffee, and I remember he was the same in the last series when he did the 911 feature. Apparently he's an advanced driving instructor! ROFL. What a klutz

'Pulling Power' is only being shown in the London TV region, not poor old Meridian.

Instead we have 'Dumb & Dumber' to watch
