Your right, I'd get a rescue cat if I ever got a cat again. Putting a cat to sleep that is in need of a owner is terrible!!
Natch, Arnolds sister is a changed cat since he's gone. She was always hissing at him / us and generally in a bad mood. Since he gone, she's been so loving. Towards the kids and me. She's even accepted our new puppy, and that's absolutely shocking!!
Still feeling gutted, just looked over and saw the wooden box with his ashes in. It don't seem right, weeks ago he was doing 150 MPH around the house on one, at 14 years old
Going to bury the ashes though, just haven't decided where.
Once again, sorry mate

Really sorry to hear that Druddle, I can imagine it's not very nice for you or your family.
I feel rather bad about giving an update on Harry, my cat who was hit by a car last weekend. As I said, he was hit on his rear by a car and was taken to the local vets by the RSPCA. He had his operation on Monday which was complicated, but they did a really good job on him. This week has been filled with visits to see him and packing boxes for our house move!
Anyway, he is coming home today finally. He will have to be on cage rest for 4 weeks at least due to his leg pins plus his broken pelvis. It's going to be difficult for him, but at least he is on the mend.
I love him dearly and if it had been bad news and they couldn't save him, I suppose I would have had to have made the same decision to put him down. The vet said they could save his leg, so it was definitely worth trying. Hopefully he will not go out again like he did before and we won't go through this again. He's a young cat and even though I don't like the idea of him being a house cat, if it means he stays out of trouble I am willing to keep him in.
I really feel for you druddle, I hope you and your family cope and can, as best you can, get over it.![Frown](images/smilies/frown.gif)

Just another thing, thanks to everyone who posted stuff about their injured cats in this thread - it made me think about what questions to ask the vet when I first visited him.

On a sad note, why would anyone want to shoot a fluffy little cat?! That is an outrage! Hope they don't end up having a gun up their ***** - NOT

Sorry to hear about your cat - just spotted the thread.
We got woken up on New Year's day by a neigbour telling us one of our cats was dead on the road. We dashed out to find Muppet in a horrible mess and spent the next hour having to dig a hole by the tree at the back of the garden :-( We'd got her from Wood Green shelter 12 years ago, gutted.
Our other 3 cats are kept in a bit more these days :-(
