Question

Doesn't look good for futer internet trading
Why's it different to normal trading? It's perfectly possible for a company to advertise a price in a newspaper, for example, getting peoples' interest in the product only to claim that the item was out of stock, and that once new stock was in the price would revert to the 'normal' non-discount price.

It happens all the time - and in fact Argos was on Watchdog for doing precisely that with a digital camera over Christmas. People went into the store to order the camera at the amazing price, but it wasn't available anywhere in the country. By the time stocks arrived, the price had gone up.

I think you'll find that any web company doing this intentionally and on a regular basis would soon go out of business - simply because word spreads like wildfire on the 'net about this sort of thing (for an example, search the archives for 'Anders' and 'Power Engineering' ).

Oh, and Badger - that's the single most stupid and childish post I think I've read on SN for quite some time. Get a grip, FFS!

How can anyone get upset by Amazon not delivering? It's funny to order them but honestly they were so obviously miss-priced people must have expected nothing to come of it.

Marco.....Take a chill pill mate. Moving to Scotland was supposed to relieve your stress. Maybe you should move back south as you are clearly a bit touchy.

MarkO..........Do you think that I ment that everyone should follow this statement?

Do you think they would miss a max of 10,000 customers from their worldwide operation.

It was posted in jest, you just missed the sentiment.

Cool

If you meant it as a joke, then why not add some smilies? They way you wrote it just came across as agressive...

Whatever.

It would have been nice to get one at that price but I would have sold it as I have no use for one or how to use one....
