MK1 Escort Mexico - don't buy one that's full of filler with a fvcked engined and seats nailed to floor on wooden blocks

MK2 XR2 - was cool. blew up. Crashed.

Strada Abarth - V cool - quick for time - ugly. poor build. Handled well till you went in a field.

RS1600i - pretty cool - liked it.

Chevette HSR - what can you say

MK1 XR2 - was awesome handling with billies and A008s. Loved it.

Cav SRi 16v - sloppy handling - quick with a turbo lump in lol. Did mega miles with no problems

UK 97 Scoob - good workhorse - loadsa track days never went wrong

STI. Blew up. twice. Loved it

XTR2 - err

Then theres the normal stuff that I can't be assed to write about.

Cars I've owned:

1st was B-reg Fiat Uno SX 1.3. Made a turbo lookalike - deceptive fast, especially the rust.

2nd was C-reg Uno Turbo. Turbo power - even faster rust than before.

3rd was D-reg Uno Turbo. All standard changes - good car.

4th was E-reg Mazda 626 Coupe- again lowered, exhaust, chip etc - had car 7.5 years and 156,000 (3 engines) miles. Loved this car!!

5th was E-reg XR2 mk2- white coded, pimp windows - again, superb wee runabout. Police always interested in this one??

6th was J-reg Lotus Carlton. Had it 4 years and it was a cracker - torque is the real power. Decatted, remapped ECU and some other tricks. Loved eating rear tyres after 4K normally - something to do with my right foot? Only sold it to experience AWD, otherwise top car!

7th was Fiesta 1.0 A beast!! Learnt what momentum was all about.

8th was Mondeo Si running 18's, RS kit and usual bits! Mum owns car now. Great car, very underated.

9th is p-reg Punto. Its a Punto LOL!!.

10th is L-reg Impreza WRX STI (no 25 of 100). Excellent car in all respects, very fast. bills are pretty cool.

11th......will be for the Punto replacement - likely to be an E36 BMW 318/320 - Omega - or return to XR2i territory.

12th....mate and I are buying a Pug 205 for hammering at knockie.

Without the company cars and vans, and only cars i have owned the list is quite small

MG Metro fun 1st car untill i rolled in in buxton ( sill 17 year old)

Mk1 XR2 very fast after being tweeked a bit.. didn't like the wet, span a bit and flying into those corners!!!!... pray a bit!

Renault 5 turbo this was the car that i most **** myself in, it was so light it went like a rocket, got into trouble more times than not, after 2 weeks got rid. saw one on a flatback after an accident!! you don't walk away from a pancake.

then had little money.. got a bike.. broke ankle.. pins still in.. thinks to self... get shell for protection.

UR quattro Turbo use it every day, things go wrong.. get fixed, she cost quite a lot to keep her right, engine sweet, nowt done.. don't need to, and as Dome said..

"Audi ur quattro. Awesome, awesome car. Difficult to get right on corners but oh so rewarding when you do. And the noise... Scuse me, i'm off to the loo..."

These things have got passive rear wheel steering so when you launch ( i think thats the right discription if you saw my face at the Breadbury roundabout of the M60) it feels as if the back end is slipping from behind.. but when you use to it.. grin city!

I'm not entering the p155ing contest to find out who has owned or driven the most cars, so:

Current car - Accord Type-R, this is probably the first car I have owned that I am really going to miss when I have to change. The 5700 - 8000 rpm power band, the noise and the handling. Everytime I drive it, it still feels fresh, everyone who has been in as a passenger has ended up nervously grinning!

But - yesterday I tried the Impreza WRX STI Prodrive (I think that is it!). 300BHP - awesome doesn't begin to describe it, my Accord felt really 'ordinary' after this test - all the things I love about it seemed dull in a way I didn't think possible! Now I have to work out if I could afford to run one. If you get the chance to drive one - take it!

A few of my favourites over the years:-

84 Mk1 Golf GTI 1.8 with various GTI Engineering tweaks - still my favourite car I've ever owned - not the best, but it was my first real car - still love the shape even today.

89 Toyota Corolla GTI - bombproof and a lot better than people realised - ran it for 5 years - nothing went wrong in 100K and I sold it for £3K less than I bought it for.

3 UK Scoobs - 97 Hatch - best built, 00 saloon - best equipped, 99 saloon - best handling/performance (still got this one)

S1 Elise - most rewarding car I've ever owned despite the obvious impracticalities of such a vehicle. Loved it, but unfortunately it died in November last year when some idiot driving in the middle of the road clipped me and spun me 3 times along a stone wall. I walked away without a scratch - car was dead - very very strong cars!!!

00 Integra Type R - current runabout, awesome engine when you learn that you really need to rev it and damned fine handling when you accept that it's different to the Scoobs you've driven for the last 5 years - took me time to work that out - doh!

Worst cars I've ever driven:-

BMW 316/318's - vastly overrated, slow, dull, badge engineering at it's worst. On top of that everyone thinks you're a w**ker which to be honest is fair enough ;-)

Land Rover Discovery - there's better cars and better 4WD's hence why would anyone by this British parts bin special

Citroen C5 Diesel - the Sinclair C5 was a better vehicle.

Renault Laguna - a motorised sofa

Peugeot 405 - what was all the fuss about - average handling, seats that gave you backache and they never restart when hot .

And for even more fun worst cars I've never driven and never will

Fiat Multipla - what a joke

That new ugly Renault (that's all of them isn't it?)

Rover 75 - Oh Dear Oh Dear - words fail me - not even my 74 year old Dad would be seen in one ;-)

Ok cars owned

1310 mini (bearing no resemblence to the 1963 model it was supposed to be)- First car and as such died in the line of duty after 6 months, way to powerful for a first car, nutter acceleration!!

Mk2 XR2(moddified) - Nice handler after the suspension kit, went well to

MG Montego - Brought in a momemt of madness sold 2 weeks later

Volvo 244 GLT - Sideways fun in a family barge

Cavalier GSi (modified) - understated, quick, but unreliable

Pug 206 GTi - Handled well, pokey engine, god awful seating position

Astra 2.2 Bertone coupe - Hmmmmm

Accord Type R - Now thats what i'm talking about
