Mazda MX-5 (Eunos) for the girlfriend ?

UK model MX5 keeps its value far longer than an imported Eunos, something you might want to consider if you have 10k to spend. Great fun cars although I want a bit more power, easy to have a lot of fun without even breaking the speed limit. Don't think I'll bother selling my 89 Eunos just yet, wont get the return. Might as well spend some money on it instead

I don't get to see it too much in the summer, it disappears off for hours at a time as the husband 'borrows' it for some roof down sideways fun!
They are a lot of fun, and as mentioned previously, both here and in another post, the steering is wonderful. Very direct and loads of feel. Most of my driving has been in the Mk2 so I can't really compare it with the Mk1 in that respect. It (the Mk2) IS a much better built car, and (IMHO) looks far superior. I still grin when I see ours. (Cue my wife shouting "It's MINE!" )
And DW, I'm close to your 'specs' and I fit comfortably in both the driver and passenger seats.
Buy one and enjoy!

I bought one of these for my better half last sat, a 95 1.8i Eunos import with 45k on the clock, lovley clean little car, a georgeous deep blue/purple colour. Fantastic little car, itcame fitted with a stainless exhaust system, and was popping when lifting off the throttle
The only thing letting the car down are the grubby little 14in alloys, I just bought a nice set of 15in OZ Leggies to tidy it up
I also got totaly blown away on the twisties on the way to work this morning, a black MX5 with massive exhaust, the thing was ripping along! Made me look like I was going backwards!
