My '7' went into dealer for PPP on Tuesday.
They lent me a car while they fitted it.
Took some back roads on my return to the dealers.
What should pass me coming the other way but my pride and joy on a test run at 1000000 miles per hour?
At first I was a little cross....but I suppose they have to test them...don't they?
Got the car back.....boy is it fast!!!
I will be driving with the windows down to savour the noise!
Roll on the summer!

So I assume that when they test the car, how do they know that it is running right. Do they rig up some sort of test equipment to it (or even a boost gauge) to make sure it is boosting correctly, or do they just give it a blast and their "experience" tells them that it is fine ???

The New ECU supplied for my PPP was faulty, so had to go back to prodrive
Now just have new pump and exhaust, but boost spiking is a problem in the higher gears under high loading
How much of the exhaust is changed all of it or is one part of the midsections retained, as I only had one part of the two midsections replaced.
PS.....Please Please Mr Wood Sir, allow the ECU fairies to work quickly on a new ECU for me. Amen

Sooo,
If you had the old PPP, (ie with the boost clamp) is this a mechanical device like a bleed valve and if so, is this something that you could visually see in the engine bay.
Ie, if you can see it you have old style ppp, and if you can't you have the ecutek ppp system ?

Mark,
I think 'Boost Clamp type' insinuates its not being a full Programmed Power mod, just a programmed, (added on chip/daughter board/piggyback chip) that fools then standard ECU programme to produce more boost.
So no visual sign of which you have as one the daughter board is soldered into the ECU the other is just a Programmed ECU by Prodrive using EcuTek software.

Just carrying on the debate about testing the output of the PPP.
I think that we all would agree that blasting along a country road is not a very scientific way to prove that a mod is delivering the book torque etc.
What, if anything, have PPPers done to have their investment verified as all present and correct?

This Saturday is crunch day for me.
Being dynoed at PE.
Will let you all know the results.
On the last dyno day (Feb) the last car on was a STi7 PPP and it produced 300/299, that was enough for me to invest in the kit. that one was the non-ecutek ppp, and hopefully where mine was done only 2 weeks ago, I am led to believe that I have the new ecutek ppp.
2 days to go.
