Back on topic,
It's actally great to have loads of like minded people to talk to on here and have a chat about something we all have in common.
Only a few "real" (excuse the expression) mates round my locale are actually into cars and modifying and stuff.
would be a bit of a lonely existance led on the garage floor on my jack jones.
It's good to get out and meet new people ! expand the circle of friends.
hey! I might even meet a chick
Andy

I have one of those mates... "you coming out with us tonight"
the reply is usually "the're your mates, not mine, I don't want to know them"
(no my friends are not dodgy either)
what a sad life, having the same old school friends coming over to play Halo on the X-box every weekend...
edit to re-word (confusing)

Do you ever make new friends? Or do you rely on those that you had at Uni/school/college?

Fat Boy, not one person has agred with him
Thats cos we are all mates, and we all phoned each other to organise a "Group Response"..
Operation Shock and Awe has got NOTHING on a well planned Scoobynet thread assault

DS - Why are you on ScoobyNet with 1400+ posts, if the only thing we all have in common is the cars we own
There was virtually no talk of cars all night, it was just a chance to put faces to online names and was a damn good night out. I will say again - Thank You Phil and get off the phone to my wife!!!

CraigH,
Burgers? Burgers? Only foie gras for me chappy. I'm not one of these prawn cocktail, steak and black forest gateaux merchants.
On the blob (??job?). Nope the wife is 7 1/2 months pregnant, I'm more likely to be in one of the spare bedrooms...
How's the Airfix kit car going?
Buzz etc just because you and all your mates agree, doesn't make it right. I'm not really knocking the ball in any way. I'm sure it took a lot of organising and you lot had a lot of fun, but that doesn't mean you've got to attack him like that. I've spoken to Deep on the 'phone in the past and he's helped me out with scooby related stuff before. My impression was that he's a decent bloke, who is involved with this community in that he chose this forum to ask what is probably a genuine question and I have to say that your responses did come across as more than a little defensive. If he was, or any other people were, waivering over coming to Scoobyball III then I think they'll have made their mind up now.
I'm off now so feel free to call me what you want

Each to their own....
What I dont get is why you have to dress to a certain code when going to a ball,Ive never been to one, maybe its not a northern thing.
Its a bit like the daft dress code you have to observe on a private golf course, what does it matter what you wear?
I think I would have looked a bit out of place with my shellsuit and a dickybow
Later Yoza

God some people are just so unsociable
Go and get a life
if you cant have a bit of fun at a scoobyball
then dont make any comment on it
keep it to yourself.
It was a brilliant weekend and everyone enjoyed them selves
sorry but your sad

Dress codes are there to keep starndards up.. not down.
Wear what you want???? whats that about???
So you'd come in your work clothes you've just been mixing cement on the building site?? Nice
IMHO you'd have lowered the tone of the Scooby Ball in shell suit... and shell suits were so two decades ago. lol
your names not down your not coming in!
Not being drawn into a load of nothing.
You didn't go.. cus you didn't want to... Nuff sed.
But 90 ppl did want to go and did go..... Nuff sed!

Its been nearly two years since I sold my scoob but I went to the ball to catch up with some old friends, meet some new ones, put some names to faces, have a nice meal, a FEW drinks and a good time.

I went to take the mickey out of as many new people as I could . I think i spoke about cars once when someone asked if I still had my DAWES on. That was it!
Must remember not to join any other clubs, just incase there are likeminded people there who want to communicate with me
Top night, top dress code (Even scruffs like me like to get dressed up every now and again ) top event.
Deep Singh, Get one, a life that is or even TRY one. No offence intended, ha, that's like someone coming up to me and saying, no offence intended, but what's the time, darky.
Mikey and offended because someone suggested that he was sad for enjoying himself!

Have you all quite finished presuming things about my life ie no mates, woman life etc?
Jese, only asked a question. You could have said the positive things about it rather than trying to defend it by saying I have no life, mates, woman etc.Making such comments about me is very infantile as you have never met me so is pure conjecture. One thing you do know about me though is that I d'ont go to Scoobyballs/meets etc.But hey thats my choice just like you have yours.
Mikey, point taken ie 'no offence' comment.Bit like people telling me 'I'm one of the nicer pakis'
Anyway now that I've managed to offend and irritate so many I presume my work id done here!

Im not offened or irritated even slightly by you asking what its all about, but when someonesays Ive been "harsh" I'd like to know HOW exactly Ive been harsh... I thought I explained what I personally get out of it rather well
And anyway, you slagged off my favourite game, so you ARENT a " nice one"
And no, Im not serious, Im joking, taking the **** etc, but I happen to be "white" so I have to defend EVERYTHING I say to anyone else who isnt "white"..
Im one of the nice ones though
