I regularly get 260 to 300 miles out of a tank of optimax on my UK Wagon, which is running in the region of 350ish.
I have currently done 12000 miles over the last 5 months with the current setup, and no problems touch wood.

Tony I just read that on 22b...
Sorry.. If it has a wink with it then take it with a pinch of salt..
Anyway.. Sorry for HiJacking your thread Harvey..
Good result at G Force at the weekend as well.. even if there rollers can get wheel spin
BTT.

60 litre tank, and i usually put 55 litres in, nearly all the time, give or take a litre.
Suppose it depends on your driving, and type of journey.
I have a broad mix of driving TBH.

To give some more info as I promised.
I use about 4500rpm to launch and still have wheel spin in second gear. I am into 4th gear for the 1/4 but not getting the best out of it. In an ideal world a slightly longer 2nd and 3rd that would see me through the 1/4 would save a gearchange and avoid the wasted energy/time with slip in second. The car is geared for 192mph but I doubt it would ever pull anything like that. A shorter 5th, geared for 180mph ish would give better results than the present set up in terms of top speed.
High power cars will support wide ratios but the gearing is more critical with less power. It is a trade off between rapid acceleration from close ratios v the time lost in the gearchange and spool up, back to full boost.
Paul with one of the red wagons did 13.36@105mph and went on to 144.7 which is just about the rev limit. The car is not far off standard but has a Type-R box with 3.9 diffs and it was the gearing that allowed such a good result.
I followed a Merc AMG away from the lights yesterday and I think there must be merits in a suitable auto box for 1/4 ml racing.
Steve: No problem.See you at Elvington on the 27th. Any improvements will be down to the re-map from Bob Rawle last week-end which was done after the 434.5 bhp at G-Force.
Greg: Insurance. I was with Direct Line and they wanted more for every modification reported. That is how they are set up. Shop around for a specialist and they may have a different attitude to modifications. I am with "Subaru Insured" tel. 0870 770 6220. I speak to Tom Butler who is very helpful and a fellow Scooby driver.
Vanish: When is Santa Pod?
Tizzard 99. This car has been reliable since Matt Clark built the engine over 20,000mls ago. The only thing that springs to mind is a burst silicone FMIC pipe which was fixed by wrapping on silicone tape until a proper repair was effected. There were teething problems with the turbo which were probably down to fitment and not the turbo itself but I did have a gearbox problem. A transmission vibration developed and I could not find the cause, initially expecting to find a UJ had gone. When it got worse John Pye pulled the gearbox out to find the centre viscuous coupling had been grossly over heated and shrapnel was going round the gearbox with the oil. We then found the front dif was 3.9 and the rear was 3.545. This was down to Scooby Sport who had originally said they would fit a taller 5th gear and then ended up saying they would fit 3.9 diffs front and rear in place of the original 4.44s. It was also found the rear diff had no L.S.D.!!!!!!!!!!!!
This explained my handling problems and why on track I was unable to put down power out of tight corners.
Fuel consumption varies from 17.5mpg to 25mpg. The car does not like cold starts and short journies. On a long run on uncongested roads and obeying the speed limit then 300mls on a tank is possible. Round Croft consumption fell to just under 8mpg. At Bruntingthorpe on a recent mapping session it was 11mpg including a gentle drive to and from a Shell station about 15mls away.
The visit to G-Force with the 200 Plus Club in March produced 416.5bhp. I took off the APS cold air kit which I thought was restricting breathing at this power level. The largest K+N I could get in the space available was fitted and the induction tract shortened. This gave 434.5bhp and since then Bob Rawle has re-mapped the car so it will be interesting to see what difference that has made on the next visit which I hope to make in a few days time.

Christian..... i said somebody had implied that 'he only got 435bhp'. Not my words. I agree very impressive figures. My question therefore is where did these figures of 500 odd bhp come from? And Nitrous?

323:I wish. Sorry,no just a flywheel figure.
740cc injectors. IDCs into the 90s but I need to check again since the re-map. Boost on both occassions was 1.8 bar but I was previously running up to 2.13 bar (31psi) in a different configuration.
The old spec is at owners cars on www.tyneteesscoobies.com. I am hoping that Ninnybobs updates it this week-end.
