The ST220 is a little too refined but for someone who eats up the miles day in, day out it's probably a good choice.
It's a very good motorway car, with some performance thrown in to make it easy to make good progress. I doubt it handles very well on the "twisties" that everyone keeps talking of (as if most people drive on bendy roads 24 hours a day!).
It's a totally different market really, so in a way a Mondeo Cosworth would probably not make sense. The original Cosworth engine was going to be put in a Mondeo (in fact, I think a small few were made by Ford) but it never got released. The Mondeo only ever got used in touring cars and was never particularly rapid.
The Focus is really the car to do if you ask me.
