Marshals Training

Nothing like a fresh track kill Kames Rabbit for breakfast after a refreshing run down the excellent back roads to Kames. Hoping to catch up with you guys on Saturday SIDC event. All depends on my young co-pilot Skye as to when I get down but expect it to be around 11:00. Might even squeeze the R/C Elise into the boot.

Langy, we'll be passing 'well on the way down the 74. From there we'll either head for Stathavon, then down to Muirkirk, or go off at J11 and heab over the A70 to Muirkirk.

Just tell me a place to meet you and i'll be there, if you want you can give me a phone when you are passing Motherwell and i'll get you then (mob no 07763 678 007). Just been informed that it's actually tonight and not next Saturday that one of my mates stag partys is, so should be nice and fresh for tomorrow

Pete after demonstrating his secret firefighting weapons (Dr Martins) on the demo fire after Myself and Neil failed to extinquish it.
Pete slows down a Scooby at a checkpoint.
Was a good day and we all learned a lot in such as busy day. Enjoyed watching the cars flying around the Kames rally track. We all got pretty wet during some torrential downpours but was good fun. Never seen Kames so wet.

smashin afternoon, feet are still soggy but was fun and interesting, certainly had some hair raisin moments traveling over with the elise back end going sideways playing catchup to john & pete then a dose of the same on the way back with skynet.
managed to forget to stop the clock for the first car out when our group was timing, oops, just as well it was only practice.
must admit this course was extreemly realistic, what with the fine weather and cheeky drivers testing us all with sneaky tactics and general simulated problems that occur, i was definatly gettin confused when drivers were asking for differnet stage entry times and then pulling over with simulated punctures, hope i get to stand on a nice quiet bend on my first rally marshal, dont want to be doing that timing malarky....

Thanks for posting the info about today.
Went along in my wee blue scooby sport. Got a wee bit bleary eyed with the morning videos. But very good session. Covered all the aspects of marshalling.
Starting clocks, filling in time cards, sneaky drivers asking for strange start times, fire training..
And finally the most reallistic part, Sunshine and pouring rain.
p.s The food was ok as well.

Too many Iains here I think :-)
Enjoyed watching the Impreza and the other cars powering around the track. Would have fancied a pax lap with him. My experiences of Kames have been limited to the black stuff (well most of the time) but the rally track looked great fun. Don't reckon the Elise would get far in it though:-) Glad I managed to make last minute babysitting arrangements.
Chris - will start seperate thread for Hot Marques night
