TBH, it takes a *really* good scooby pilot to beat a mediocre bike rider. I've thrashed many a scooby driver out around warwickshire during the summer months, and i don't mean just straight line stuff either!

I don't know you would have to ask my friend about those points one thing is for sure bikes do not have very good protection. Any bikers that disagree keep on riding like you own the roads. When you end up looking at your leg bones through compound fractures you'll find I was correct. Stay safe.

I would never "tap" a motorbike or anything like that, as you will do time when reported for your actions. However, I can understand some peoples frustration with bikers and their lack of regard for car drivers. Example - The other day traffic is moving along at 50ish when bike decides wants to go faster. He overtakes about four cars (an offence in itself) and then when he sees a car coming the other way he has to pull into what was a safe gap for the car and causes all cars behind to brake sharply. Now is he oblivious to what he just did or a complete w*nker who doesn't care. Not wanting to generalise, but bikers are always doing this!

thats right and looking at the statistics for fatalities and maiming of "born again" bikers (read fat middle aged guys who seem to think they are Troy Baylis or similar) you'll find that a lot of them pay a severe penalty for their attitude problems.

I cannot believe some of you peeps attitudes towards motorcyclists!!! Side-swipes? WTF are you on dude. Whenever I speak to someone who starts slagging off bikes I ask them if they have ever ridden one let alone taken there motor-bike tests. The answer has (to date) allways been "no". If you have the means to avoid sitting in traffic queues and getting to your destination with the minimum of delay then you are going to do so.

As for stating that your car can beat/keep-up with a bike then keep on dreaming cos a person who knows how to ride a bike within its limits will waste you good and proper. It makes me laugh when I read some of these comments cos all you have to do is look at the power to weight-to-weight ratio of even a Suzuki RGV 250 against a scoob to get the right idea.

Dont get me wrong, I have adored the Impreza since its UK release, but you have got to admit that a bike ridden by a person in such a way as a Scoob should be driven then the bike will win every time.

In the real world a bike has the upper-hand in most situations but every once in a while a car is the better one.

Oh happy days on Scoobynet once again

Indeed that is a fair comment.

But you should also look at the amount of fatalities of bike crashes being caused by what.....yes 66% of bike crashes / fatalities are caused by car drivers.

You're banging on about bikers having the attitude problem, methinks not, look at your unconstructive posts, you've got a severe chip on your shoulder about bikers, you need to take a chill pill or something similar before you get banged up for being a flid.

I have my bike licence but don't ride any more its just too dangerous.

Cars are generally a lot slower than bikes we all know that. However who would win in a no holds bar contest the car cos all it has to do is tap the bike and its game over.

who was talking about deliberatly tapping a bike??? you guys read some weird stuff into peoples posts.

What I meant was in a racing situation if the car accidentally tags the bike its game over.

well **** happens behave like a d1ck with a bike in your car and you'll be OK. Behave like a d1ck on your bike with a car and you will be looking for some new limbs or a transplant. If you don't like it then don't ride a bike. Flesh and bone is so fragile.

Sit back and relax everyone....joshL is going to do the posting for us all

He did, incompetence is not an excuse
He, he - I got to 50mph before I realised he'd completely floored it and choosen the correct gear. 50 is the nomansland between 2nd and 3rd so I just had to stick it out

Thats why I like oil burners though cause they can catch you with your pants down with all that torque low down

Question

What is dumb about pointing out that a biker has little or no protection and needs to be careful out there. I would suggest that not baiting car drivers can only increase their chances of continuing to live.

Wink

Kenny, my 50-70 in 3rd is 1.7 seconds and I have a big F.O. turbo so what's your excuse Oh I forgot I mapped it LOL

Edit - E270CDI is 5.1 (Auto 50-70) BTW. You clearly need a bigger turbo as you were well above the boost threshold in 3rd at 50 mph on a weeny TD04.
