The Canterwood is an Intel chipset for the P4 cpus, the Nforce2 is for AMD Athlons.

What canterboard MB did you go for(and from where). I've read the Asus one has issues with 9700 series cards.

hi,

Asus P4C800 Deluxe

Not heard that, im sure a bios patch will come out soon through.

Reading the manual i can run single channel.
So for the 2 weeks ill run single channel till i can afford the 2*512MB XMS3500
are you considering it With the P4 3.06 £330 id def go intel over AMD

I'd be careful as the orginal revision of the A7V8X board had no end of problems with the 9700pro and that wasnt fix able via any bios patch, It needed a new board revision to to that.

Have you considered the new 800FSB chips which will go straight into the board and run at 400MHZ dual DDR??

Considering it yes.

Does'nt the 3.06Ghz P4 not support 800Mhz FSB? and only the 3.0Gjz one does?

(been reading up and looks tempting.)

If people read the board, ste youd realise im buying a 800mhz supporting one

you could try overclocking it to that speed.
wow the 800mhz chip is only (£366.19, just found one)
But no its a 4*133MHz cpu(533mhz)

But im going to get 170 easy

Nice git

Overclockers stock a water cooling set now.

going to fiddle with my Cryo one frirst.

So far spec is

P4 2.8 or 3.06 depending if its faulty then i swap for the 3.06
Asus canterwood board.
2* XMS3500 either 512 or 256 unsure yet.
Then maybe thinking selling my GPU for 9700 or 9800. Is there much difference?

Should have most this by thursday friday. Or maybe next week as i cant do a thing till prommys here

Si
