Good point, TK. But that's not why I do it. Personally, I'd rather have somebody else's cast-offs than cough up good money for stuff when I could spend it on more interesting things. 
Swings and roundabouts though, I give stuff I no longer need to my mates, and they do the same for me. That way, we all end up getting useful stuff for free, and can spend our money on pizza or beer.
I guess that's not an option for Basal though, on the basis that for it to work, you need to have mates.

Personally I would rather give stuff I no longer need to friends who can use it than chuck it away.

Also: what idiot goes on holiday to scotland???? The place features the most terrible weather and when it isn't raining has a biting "midge" problem that would have even the most impecunious scotsman hiding in his hovel.

Interesting, Basal, how you appear to be able to work because you enjoy it (i.e., not for the money), yet you find it incredulous that I do the same (hence not getting paid since January).

I must say I find it strange that a successful property tycoon such as bas needs to work in an office?! No body works in an office for pleasure (unless their wierd - hmmm..

poor old uncle fvck....not all offices are hell holes. I like working here I get a buzz out of making people look stupider than they already are while earning loads of cash.
Your right about the victorian terraced house in kent though.......its a sh1thole bought for a song and producing £1000 a week in cash straight from the council tax payers of Kent-LOL
