MY03 has recently had 10,000 service and noise still remains, guess it is just part of the car soundtrack, unless anyone posts otherwise.

 

MY03 PPP mine does it to 3k miles and have now got used to it, but at about 125 mph i get a noise like some one`s horn from drivers side door! anyone else hade this?

my UK300 with PPP has been making similar noises for the past two months (bit like a card pegged on the back wheel of a bike), exactly when it got to around 15K miles. The dealer found the exhaust was lose (about to fall apart/off , tightened it up and no difference ) . The noise is getting steadily worse and most noticable when i boot it, rather than accelerate in a steady manner. No noticable loss of power, but my dealer has been stumped on this, and they have had it in twice, (exhaust, body bits blamed). If anyone knows of a fix, then let me know. As mine is a MY01, seems it is across the range of new models, no such problems on my classic, which went to 60K miles (but then had starting problems at the end)

I've noticed it I take it real easy whilst warming my engine it seems to get around the issue. This usually involves not exceeding 2500rpm for about 6 miles or so.. give the oil a chance to warm up.

I've recently fitted a Green panel filter which makes it sound louder to.

 

I also can hear this noise on my MY03 although its not that loud and I can only hear it when I am driving alonside a wall or fence and get the reflected sound back. I was slightly worried by it but now that so many are experiencing the same thing I am happy that its a normal function of the car

 

Yep does it on my STi7PPP it is as said between "on" and "off" boost @ around 2700-3000 rpm

If you were passing through this rev range with 'WOT' boost wants to be 'On' @ 2700 if crusing at that rev would needs to be 'Off'. So it is not sure which to do, but reading for either Throttle response if you no what I mean
