right, some further news on dates/options for this one. unfortunately we cant get a one off date in there before our 13th july event anyway, unless people want to come midweek?
(the 29th june date that people mentioned was incorrect, that is a bike only round for straightliners.)

otherwise it will have to be later in the season, ie after TOTB2, and trax etc. (prob mid-late sept would be best).we can run this as 200+ vs scoobs if you like to make up numbers .

i will email this info to peccy or wait to hear from you/him, but options can be summed up as follows:

1. run your scooby shootout at our general TOTB2 test day on 13th july which is open to all clubs. no probs at all with you doing this and giving out trophies . would need to know a confirmed number of cars to work with within a week or two please. there wont be massive queues , plus we have timed handling set up that day in addition to 1/4m and top speed. bit more interest then?

2. run the event midweek as just 1/4m and top speed, but this will have to be late may or in august after totb2, as cant be done in June/july .

3. wait until september (after trax)and run it as 1/4m and top speed.

if you want to run it on the 13th, that would work well and be a cracking day. i'll leave it upto you all for now

Given that there are 3 suggestions by Chris, and i know of another date prior to June at Elvington (well according to the leaflet given out at the end of April) then i would find it hard to answer a simple YES or NO.

I am merely suggesting another alternative, it will be upto Peccy to ultimately decide which date we are going for, as he is organising it, i am merely helping spread the word. So once again, difficult for me to answer YES or NO, as it is not my call.

im in favour of 13th July - running it with the TOTB2 practice day, and we will also have the facility of the timed handling course

think a midweek date would limit the numbers available to attend so dont fancy this option?

or a date later in the year (september'ish) could be an option? if we get the numbers(60+) it could be run as a scooby only event, plus special guests / invitation only or as chris says scoobys V 200+ club?

i wont make a decision just yet and see what you guys reckon...

My apologies Ian (one of those days i think)

Again, it is really down to Peccy, and the numbers involved. Should we fall short of Scoobs (we need 50 or more) then i think we should allow other cars from SN to run.

If we fall short on numbers, then you will be entitled to come along anyway, as it will be turned into a RWYB day, but still aiming to find out the quickest scoob.

Speak to Peccy.

Ahh, Peccy has spoken

I personally feel it should be BEFORE TOTB2.

I was personally interested in coming up due to it being just a scooby day . When I always go to the pod it is full of allsorts and you spend hours and hours queueing.

Not so interested if its not dedicated day, will just go to the pod as usual

Agree, scoob only day.

If it's after TOTB it may allow some of the non-runners (like possibly me, SMG, anyone else that has problems up to aug) have a good run.

Or possibly invite someone like the EVO boys to do a Scooby VS XXX shoutout.

Agree it SHOULD be a Scoob ONLY day.

Paul i like your thinking re having it after TOTB, plus it will be on the same ground, so no "Timing gear is different crap".

However, if we dont get the numbers, then we will have to invite others.

If you have never been to Elvington, then i will tell you that they are very efficient. My 1st day in march, there must have been 60+ cars and god knows how many bikes, yet i still managed 11 runs, in batches of 3 or 4.

I could have done alot more, some prople did 20+, but i chose to eat and also watch. You would not be disappointed 5 Type R, honest, it is a very good venue IMO.

starting to favour a scooby only day in september, this will give us time to get the numbers and for people to get their cars ready, and also a car mag and tv company have expressed a possible interest in covering the event, and a date at the end of the year would suite them better too...

chris m,

can we go for option 3 please - 'wait until september (after trax)and run it as 1/4m and top speed day'

we have 40+ runners so far in just 1 week, so reckon we will easy get 60!

cheers, peccy

agreed then, trying to get you a date for scoobs only (and 200+) in september. will be 1/4m and top speed only to keep cost down.

dont forget though our open event on 13th july at elvington, with timed handling, top speed and 1/4s, hopefully plenty of cars practising for totb2!
email me direct please if you are coming to that one.
cheers
