Strengthened gearsets / boxes for high output cars

Swiss championship winning Evo6 from last year has just rebuilt his gearbox due to failure at end of season. Is now fitting an oil cooler/pump set-up for it and changing oil every 1k km's because of advice from box rebuilder.
As David mentions, it's got quite a lot of energy being lost through it...it's got to go somewhere.
Richard
PS: Thanks EB, I feel better already

From: Leeds - It was 562.4bhp@28psi on Optimax, How much closer to 600 with race fuel and a bigger turbo?
richard.. thank **** someone agrees, even if its 10bhp then its a lot of heat...
Opinions.. maybe I should start a new thread.. and order some oil coolers

the standard oil/water heat exchanger is also their to help warming the engine up is it not? If u put an oil cooler would it not be better to have one with a thermostat.
I heard from some people I know involved in rallying that the selectors can bend if the car is driven hard with fast gear changes specially on big hp cars is this another weak point with the impreza box?
