Couldn't beleive the amount of CTR's that were there..good on them though. They put on a good show.
Maybe next time once my brakes are done..i'll try and book up to get on.

Had some great passenger laps with Tut as he and Stuart in the scandal green Elise played cat and mouse

 

the blue cossie was the fastest hard top car I timed last night with a 62-63 second lap,not sure how it managed to be on a hot marque night though,it would probably be worth more than many cars with the mods but I doubt it was road legal. skyline was 64-65's and ctr's were in the 68's.

 

The next event is the SIDC one on Saturday 24th May, from 9am to 1pm.

Our last event was fully subscribed, and we are expecting the same for this event. Book up quickly to avoid the disappointment of the reserve list (there are only about 20 places remaining, based on the shop and form bookings to date).

Would be interesting to see some of the CTR's on track. We've had a couple of Integra Type-R's before, which were equally impressive around Knockhill, especially with slicks fitted.

The blue 3dr belongs to Cubby from Cathburn Customs. It's had a 330 conversion and made very good power at AVA rr day despite running low boost due to a missfire.

I think TUT has done a few things over winter, IIRC he did a 64.5. last year we lapped exactly the same and I do not think we were ever that quick.

was a quality nite, shame about the lack of scoobies on track tho. there were 2 CTR's in particular i noticed, just after the 1st red flag - we were standin up at the chicane and these 2 were absolutley flyin.

the next sidc day sounds good, i should hopefully be there again

also meant to say, the blue and red pug's were T-16's, blue 1 seemed very slow last nite compared to normal, seen it far faster before. Dianne the owner of Ecosse was driving it too, think that was her 1st outing on track.

 

I've just signed onto Scoobynet, seems like I'm among a few regulars on the Type R forums!

Anyway that was my first trackday yesterday, absolutely fantastic, made me realise what a good little car the Civic type r is. Shame there were not more of you scoobie guys out there, I'm hoping to come and watch the scooby trackday though, maybe even blag a passenger ride if I'm lucky.

I was also lucky enough to have a go in my mates Sti 8 a couple of weeks ago! Awesome machine, looking forward to when he changes the rev beeper thing from 6 to 7.5K revs!

 

Oh!! and my mate bought the grey Skyline on the track last night, said it was running at about 350bhp, not set to full boost though, he has plans to have about 500bhp around August time.

Yes the M3 was a bit of a lamb but fairly pulled on the straights

declared clinically insane - he pi55ed all over the M3 driver on the corners

Think Cubby was running more than 330bhp but i could be wrong, he was running 22psi that night. Johnny50 and bluenose, was that you two behind me for a while going on to the motorway heading to the forth bridge?

dont know what we were parked next to.next we'll have to have a wee chat .well impressed with the ctr's what can they rev to b4 changing ,they sounded great.shame about the scoobs though .i think the dark blue bug eye only went on once.also first time i sen a340r in the flesh,looks well scarey.

That Skyline was fast, about the only car that I could not get past(I dont think the Cossy and I were together at the same time). We lapped nose to tail for about ten laps, and he could really handle it on the corners.

Enjoyed driving with all the CTR's as well, and though I have been on with 200hp Hondas before, they were not as fast as you lot.

The Hot Marque format now is much better, overtaking briefed on either side, which means the car in front can keep to his line, and you do not have to wait for him to pull over, and open pit lane instead of 10min sessions. There was also a more rexaxed attitude to overtaking on some corners where it is safe to do so, ie the hairpin. It now means that if you have a queue of cars on the outside line, you can leave braking late and safely take the inside line. Even more so coming into Dufus, as normally behind a slower car that you could not pass on the line, you can now take on the inside, not be too much off line, and then have a clear run through Mac and the chicane.

This only works if cars stick to their lines, which most seemed to be doing.

All in all, a most enjoyable evening, great open top weather, some good dicing, a good standard of driving(I dont think anybody was black flagged), the only downside being the number of red flags which cut down the track time for a two hour session.

Just wandered what the lime green elise had under the bonnet, it seemed quicker than most of the others out there?

CTR's change gear @ 8300rpm, this ensures you keep in VTEC for the next gear, to be honest the whole lap is never really below 5000-6000rpm

When is the scooby track day, as a few of the Type R crew might come and watch.

Not me I had a black Open face helmet on, but certainly had a huge grin after my CTR laps with a guy called Iain. Had the same grin after going out with TUT, then the Exige and finally the 340R. Actually I don't think I had my crash helmet off all night. Great fun and looking forward to SIDC on the 24th. Got some great video clips last night. The CTR I was out with was doing very well up against the Cossie, though no match whatsover for it in the straights.

Yellow S2 Elise

 

Stuart was the guy driving the lime green Sport 160 Elise. He also drives on the circuit in his rapid purple mini pickup in Hot Hatch events. I was out with him 4 times on the last Hot Hatch event and he was great round the track. Started at the back of the field and made it to the front by the end of the session, and I captured it all on video. My sides were sore from getting thown about and laughing so much.
