Hot Marques - Lame turn out ?

Foz mate...this chisel will do loads..use it properly and it's good for an extra 20bhp !
Couldn't beleive the amount of CTR's that were there..good on them though. They put on a good show.
Maybe next time once my brakes are done..i'll try and book up to get on.

Looks like it was fun on track!!
Cheers,
Grant
P.S - Johnny, if you're looking for a centre section then check out For Sale and Andy Tang's post, you'll end up with a full exhaust system for about 150quid...

Cheers Grant..need to start calling you DelBoy.
Have replied to his post..would be good if he's still got it.
You missed a good night lastnight, there was even a Focus RS sitting in the car park !

the blue cossie was the fastest hard top car I timed last night with a 62-63 second lap,not sure how it managed to be on a hot marque night though,it would probably be worth more than many cars with the mods but I doubt it was road legal. skyline was 64-65's and ctr's were in the 68's.

The next event is the SIDC one on Saturday 24th May, from 9am to 1pm.
http://shop.sidc.co.uk/index.cfm?cat_id=8 to book online (please note there are members and non-members rates, and please choose the correct one!), or alternatively, send me an e-mail to john@sidc.co.uk and I'll e-mail you a booking form which you can print out, fill in and return to me with a cheque (saves a couple of quid in credit card charges).
£65 for 4 hours open pit lane (SIDC members), £70 for non-SIDC members. Price includes instruction if required (we'll have at least one instructor there for use by partcipants free of charge), and also use of the wheel and tyre van (to change wheels, tyres, rent slicks, wheels, buy new road tyres etc.)
Numbers are limited to guarantee quality track time, but still superb value for money
Our last event was fully subscribed, and we are expecting the same for this event. Book up quickly to avoid the disappointment of the reserve list (there are only about 20 places remaining, based on the shop and form bookings to date).
Would be interesting to see some of the CTR's on track. We've had a couple of Integra Type-R's before, which were equally impressive around Knockhill, especially with slicks fitted.

was a quality nite, shame about the lack of scoobies on track tho. there were 2 CTR's in particular i noticed, just after the 1st red flag - we were standin up at the chicane and these 2 were absolutley flyin.
the next sidc day sounds good, i should hopefully be there again

also meant to say, the blue and red pug's were T-16's, blue 1 seemed very slow last nite compared to normal, seen it far faster before. Dianne the owner of Ecosse was driving it too, think that was her 1st outing on track.

I've just signed onto Scoobynet, seems like I'm among a few regulars on the Type R forums!
Anyway that was my first trackday yesterday, absolutely fantastic, made me realise what a good little car the Civic type r is. Shame there were not more of you scoobie guys out there, I'm hoping to come and watch the scooby trackday though, maybe even blag a passenger ride if I'm lucky.
I was also lucky enough to have a go in my mates Sti 8 a couple of weeks ago! Awesome machine, looking forward to when he changes the rev beeper thing from 6 to 7.5K revs!

Gza - were you in a Clio Cup ? I was hoping you'd turn right so i could compare straight line distances
Yes the M3 was a bit of a lamb but fairly pulled on the straights
The red CTR in the previous pics was driven by someone who has been
declared clinically insane - he pi55ed all over the M3 driver on the corners
Skyente- were you the chap with the pony tail and a huge grin after your CTR pax lap.......
Anyone know whop had that dark blue Nissan ( 200sx?) - decent bloke who seemed to be amazed at the CTR turnout
Gutted I didn't get to see the 22b in action
Saw Johnny50 and bluenose - i think ! - were you guys parked near a Black Civic reg *** CAL ??
Anyway, cheers to all

That Skyline was fast, about the only car that I could not get past(I dont think the Cossy and I were together at the same time). We lapped nose to tail for about ten laps, and he could really handle it on the corners.
Enjoyed driving with all the CTR's as well, and though I have been on with 200hp Hondas before, they were not as fast as you lot.
The Hot Marque format now is much better, overtaking briefed on either side, which means the car in front can keep to his line, and you do not have to wait for him to pull over, and open pit lane instead of 10min sessions. There was also a more rexaxed attitude to overtaking on some corners where it is safe to do so, ie the hairpin. It now means that if you have a queue of cars on the outside line, you can leave braking late and safely take the inside line. Even more so coming into Dufus, as normally behind a slower car that you could not pass on the line, you can now take on the inside, not be too much off line, and then have a clear run through Mac and the chicane.
This only works if cars stick to their lines, which most seemed to be doing.
All in all, a most enjoyable evening, great open top weather, some good dicing, a good standard of driving(I dont think anybody was black flagged), the only downside being the number of red flags which cut down the track time for a two hour session.

Just wandered what the lime green elise had under the bonnet, it seemed quicker than most of the others out there?
CTR's change gear @ 8300rpm, this ensures you keep in VTEC for the next gear, to be honest the whole lap is never really below 5000-6000rpm
When is the scooby track day, as a few of the Type R crew might come and watch.

Tut,
Apologies for my earlier comment (the old guy in the blue elise)
Have since looked at the Scottish Elises website..know who you are now.
Langy..yep, that was me & Bluenose on the way to the bridge.
Civic typeR..we were parked behind the yellow(ish) M3 that was for sale.

Not me I had a black Open face helmet on, but certainly had a huge grin after my CTR laps with a guy called Iain. Had the same grin after going out with TUT, then the Exige and finally the 340R. Actually I don't think I had my crash helmet off all night. Great fun and looking forward to SIDC on the 24th. Got some great video clips last night. The CTR I was out with was doing very well up against the Cossie, though no match whatsover for it in the straights.

Stuart was the guy driving the lime green Sport 160 Elise. He also drives on the circuit in his rapid purple mini pickup in Hot Hatch events. I was out with him 4 times on the last Hot Hatch event and he was great round the track. Started at the back of the field and made it to the front by the end of the session, and I captured it all on video. My sides were sore from getting thown about and laughing so much.

Hey James - didn't realise you'd registered until I properly read through this thread tonight....welcome in !
Johnny- saw you after all - did you speak to the bloke from Fife with the blue WRX (on track that night with the DV)? - he says he never goes on Scoobynet so I wondered if you knew him ? His cars for sale @ £14500 I believe
Tut - your the main man - I assume your heel-toeing with the bare "plates of meat" or do you have to earth yourself to the ground after releasing so much energy in your speedy Elise -anyway was nice to chat with you & Dave Hay (red CTR)
Skynet -open face helmet rings a bell - it looked like you were having fun. That chap Ian that you were out with is a fairly accomplished driver but his lunatic streak adds to his competitive edge ! nice screen grabs bty -
