Those of you that know me know i'm not into all that "my ****'s bigger than yours" stuff

The point is that the Elise and VX220 have evolved into totally different cars, which considering they are built on the same tub is testimony to how versatile the base car is. The different versions appeal to different people in different ways, but it means there is a broader spread of appeal for more people with the Vauxhall/Lotus versions, so hurrah for that

I just think it amusing that people will discount the VX as a choice just because of the griffin badge - and I don't need to defend it because it is more than capable of doing that itself on road or track

The intresting thing about this thread is nobody has quantified how the VXT or Elise is better. Myself included.

Like peoples thoughts why it is better, as there must be 1 reason why we all chose there variant.

From my point of view I don't like the look of the VX, put them side by side perfomance wise I doubt there is much in it, handling I really couldnt say havent pushed either of them any where near the limit. Vauxhall wins on price, build quality, Lotus S1 were awful, S2 much better, VX a bit better, Elise is a tad rawer, brakes found the VX's easy to use but now getting to grips with them find the Elise better. Dealer support well my Lotus dealer has been fantastic, the Vauxhall were good too, so evens.

My VX220 Turbo has been delayed by a week due to being pulled out for a GM quality audit but passed

However, it has now been released from Lotus, and will be delivered to the dealer on Tuesday

Also, I threw my toys out of the pram (nicely ) at the latest delay, and the brand manager at Vauxhall offered to lend me one off their demo fleet until mine arrives

It was delivered to my office on Friday, and so far have put about 120 miles on it (it'll have a few more today ).

All I can say is, I made the right choice, the car is incredibly agile, extremely quick cross country, and bloody good fun to drive - it's a car you find yourself looking for excuses to go out and drive.

Can't wait until I pick mine up

Nice one Dave. My local dealer gets a N.A in this week which I've booked a test drive on..seems a bit of a crappy dealer though so I'll probably take business elsewhere if I go for one. Been in touch with 'Turboman' this morning regarding that.
