Hi Sonic,

Will we be getting all the bits we need to fit with these gauges or will these need to be ordered seperate? eg. sensors for oil temp and pressure and all the cables/fittings! When i order and receive all these it would be nice to not have to go searching about for bits of pipe/screws etc!

And ive a MY98 and will be wanting a center triple pod but would want to see this before buying as i dont want anything that looks tacky! Could you post up a link of where its from to check it out if poss! I would rather pay a bit more for a decent one.

Cheers bud!

Hi,

Still very interested but.....

I've got prices from the websites of scoobymania (gauges) and j-spec (pods) and they are as follows:

Oil temp: 46.35 + vat (54.46)
Oil pressure: 34.15 + vat (40.13)
Triple A pillar pod: 55 + vat (64.63)

Grand total of £159.22 inc vat

From the prices above the total is £157... so i save £2.22. Can't the dealers do us a bit better deal? I know you've spent time trying to get this sorted but that's just over a 1% discount. If that's the best then can offer us then so be it.

Tony.

I'll take a closer look tomorrow, ive just got back in from going to London & Back

The prices above are from JW Racing retail less 5%, the A-Pillar Pod is cheaper from J-Spec by the looks of things

Steve,

Scoobymania's prices on the autometers have always been very competitive...... even without any discount they're very good. Im in no rush for these so i'll wait if it means getting a good deal.

Cheers,

Tony.

Count me in if we can get the ultra-lite guages at a good price! I am after a boost guage, AFR and Oil temp. I may also be looking for a centre pod, but I am n no rush so it is a matter of waiting to see if we can get the right price. I presume that we are looking at 52mm?
Cheers fellas!!

We are looking at 52mm. I have a boost gauge already, and this is step 1 of my master plan, so I'm in no rush to get to step 2 where the money REALLY starts to be spent!

Oh and BTTT. This place moves fast!

Hi

I know of a chap in Manchester that can do Autometers very cheap, shipped straight from the US. He is not a supplier of Subaru parts, but does supply all Autometer gauges. I expect he will be cheaper than any other supplier.

Thanks Omen

Ok Status Update

Firstly looking at the prices, Phantom are the same price as Ultra Light, so I guess its down to personal preference, on either Silver Face/Silver Bezel (Ultra Lite) or White Face/Black Bezel (Phantom) Im still waiting an answer on Black Face Gauges, so I cant answer that for the moment

These Gauges are only 52mm or 65mm, Autometer dont do a 60mm Gauge

Pods I think may be slightly awkward to do, as the triple centre pod varies wildly in price & design, depending on which supplier you use, or what MY car you have

Onto the Prices, I take in what is being said re Scoobymanias prices, but unfortunatly they havent replied to my email (I know they are very busy at the moment) but if they dont reply I cant do anything about that

I am still awaiting from one other supplier, and the prices I quoted previously where with 5% discount, so I have done a quick comparison to show the retail prices including VAT

Scoobymania J-Spec Jw Racing

Oil Temp (e) 40.13 42.00 40.13
Oil Press (e) 54.46 57.00 54.46
Boost (m) 52.29 50.00 52.29
AFR (e) 59.05/55.68 59.00 55.68

2nd AFR Price on Scoobymania is Phantom Gauge

Other than that prices are the same wether Phantom or Ultra Lite

I have just receieved an Ultra Lite Boost Gauge today, that I can sell to someone who wants one, and in place I will buy a new Phantom Boost Gauge, as I prefer the white face to the silver face, and my Oil Temp is a Phantom Gauge

So the current list is as follows

1) Sonic
- AFR Gauge
- Oil Pressure (Elec)

2) Tone Loc
- Oil Pressure (Elec)
- Oil Temp (Elec)

3) dnb
- Oil Pressure (Elec)
- Oil Temp (Elec)

4) Trick
- Oil Pressure (Elec)
- Oil Temp (Elec)
- Boost

5) Omen
- Oil Pressure (Elec)
- Oil Temp (Elec)
- Boost

6) Turbo Steve (Black Face only)
- Oil Temp (Elec)
- Oil Pressure (Elec)

7) Ozzy
- Boost

8) Twigster
- Oil Temp (Elec)
- Boost
- AFR (Elec)

AFR - 2
Boost - 4
Oil Temp - 6
Oil Press - 6

As Far As I know, all Gauges come with the relevant connectors, senders etc

And the Pods may be better sourced individually, as everyones tastes (and cars) are different

Let me know what you think

That pod looks pretty good is it only available in carbon/carbon effect, as I would prefer standard to match existing trim

Ill see if I can find out some prices of the 65mm gauges, but I dont know anyone who does a triple pod for them

How about this pod, from j-spec.
I think JW do it aswell, but I got mine from j-spec for £71.00.

J-spec also do Autometer triple gauge deals...http://www.j-spec.co.uk/ Under 'Special Offers'

With this pod, all you need do is remove the lid and drill a hole in the bas for the wires to poke through. The pod then stick in place with Velcro or trim-tape ( the same as a Defi pod).

If you sell the car and want to remove it all you need do is bung a grommet in the hole and replace the lid.

P.S I am getting LeMans Auto's to produce a sump adaptor for the Oil Temp Sensor (1/8NPT). See http://www.scoobynet.co.uk/bbs/threa...hreadid=206386

Thanks Scott

I have the very same Pod in my MY00 but it has holes cut for 60mm, so I need a replacement, and sell my current Pod

I know J-Spec are doing Autometer deals with Pod's, and I am awaiting confirmation of prices

Keep us posted on the sump plug thingy

most common gauges are boost, oil temp and oil pressure.

best gauges really are dependant on what the car is, if std the above three are fine, if you do a lot of track days etc then an EGT may be a very useful gauge.

Better looking but as accurate? The Lambdalink is extremely accurate.

I was on the same train of thought as you Sonic with aesthetics but after talking to a few people most of them said that you are buying the item to give you info on whats happeneing in your engine. Are the AFR gauges as accurate as the lambdalink?

This sort of swayed it for me!
