I must admit Newport is dire, I lived in Rogerstone for a bit,but i grew up in Burnley,which is just,just...............sorry some repressed memories have surfaced and i am now insane

I'm not sure I can agree when Merthyr Tydfil still exists - don't forget they get minibuses down from there to Newport for a Thursday night out, so Newport is somewhere where Tydfilians aspire to, whereas Merthyr is the pits (or was about 30 years ago). The birds would fly backwards up there too if they weren't so diseased as to be unable to fly in the first place....

I officially declare Smoke-On-Stench (Stoke-On-Trent) to be my winner. I'm not sure if it's the general depression the place has, or whether it's that the ratio of inbred mutants:normal people is the highest in the country (about 50:1) or that everyone calls you "Duck".
Bearing in mind I live in Runcorn and I find Stoke a to be a hellhole, thats a pretty damning indictment

Lots of really sh1te towns on the list but surely there is nowhere worse than Corby (although Kettering does a good job of trying). It is the fight/scum/petty theft capital of the worst geographical region in the UK.
Worse than that the locals seem to have been fiercely inbreeding for years producing more mingers per square foot than any other town for miles around.
These places are so utterly crap that even Slough and Langley start to look appealing.
