Brilliant work guys.

Form over function doesn't float my boat.

These mechanical complaints make me remember the 1970 Audi 100LS my parents bought. When we would take it in for service, we could hear the mechanica arguing with each other about how to fix it.

Of course...Audi did a complete recall of all cars to retrofit spoilers and new rear suspension parts because of other peoples bad driving.

Thats right! Some people just make me larf (sic)

How many competitions / awards has the TT won (other than for its styling?)

Cars are for driving. Driving comes first, looks second. Unless you are a poser. Need I say more?

Just been Reading the TT forum and couldn't believe some of the comments.

A few bit's that stuck out

comment one really say's it all.

1 *Point of order. Just who gave permission for the riff raff to join this forum? It is cruel and unusual punishment to be giving them a sample of life on the other side of the financial divide; something they can only dream of whilst playing the Lotto every week.

2 *to all you Scooby drivers may I wish all your dreams come true......one day you will be able to afford a better car the riff raff to join this forum

These People seem to be MONEY MONEY MONEY. SAD :-(

Question - is the scooby the Capri of the millenium.
Awnser - The capri was a good car for it's time. a 2.8 special could probly give a 180 TT a good run for its money. A capri may not be able to stop but it's an old car.

There must be some TT drivers that are not a complete To$$er$

Quote from TT forum: There’s no denying that the Scooby is an awesome motor but clearly not to everyone’s taste as far as styling goes. I've beaten Scoobs on the road and also had my *** kicked by others so I ain't gonna be stupid enough to say one is better than the other

I did notice the general theme was Scoobs are ugly, Scoobs have no style, Scoobs have crap build quality, Scoobs are owned by poor people on councli estates and "you can't afford a TT so you bought a Scoob" (yeah right - if you say so ) etc. etc. etc.

They are mainly right I suppose but it tells it's own story - I think it's a sad day when peolpe buy a car for it's image and the quality of the drive/dynamics/performance come a very distant 2nd to it's perceived "status" (I know it's common but it's a theme running very strongly through that thread )

BTW, I test drove a Leon Cupra last weekend and it is remarkably similar to the 180 TT FWD I drove for a weekend in Germany two weeks before (oh, and this is £10k cheaper than the TT and it's same to drive )

Ta,

Matt

Well get your facts right first.............
The original TT has been tested by many professional drivers who ALL agree that the handling was superb. It was also tested by the Thames valley police who also agreed that the handling was good and there was no problem with the handling of the car and when certain accidents were investigated it was often found that the idiots behind the wheel were to blame.
There happens to be a professional driver who sometimes posts on here and i know for a fact that he will confirm this

Well then you would hate driving in the US, everybody and his brother drives an SUV for those reasons. They are big, wasteful, clumsy, and a serious menace when in the hands of one of our typical semi-compotent drivers. The prevailing wisdom seems to say that if you can't drive well, you should at least drive something BIG ENOUGH that anyone you hit will pay a greater price than you.

We have a lot of those TTs here, too. I like that 'jelly mold' description.

PMSL at both threads, best read I’ve had for ages.

Sadly I’ll never be able to have a TT because I’m not a sausage jockey, I’m not a drug dealer and I’m not a gun toting member of ‘So Solid’ Bling bling my @ss!!!

I’m happy with my scoob and more than happy that it will never be mistaken for a Street Ka!

XT - you kill me, man. (No, literally, I almost died first from falling off my chair, then not being able to catch my breath from laughing histerically for around 5 minutes. )

That fool who mentioned the financial divide... Hope this isn't typical of TT drivers.

XT - see ya Sunday.

LOL, a great thread and cracking pic by jiggerypokery.. I actually like the look of the TT, but it's the drivers that has spoiled the image etc.. Obviuosly, TT means Total Twat...

Just a little while ago, I was on my way to work and noticed a silver TT pulling out of the petrol station in my rear view mirror, giving it the big one.. thought nothing of, until he kept up my **** all the way to a set of lights.. Being p*ssed off by now, I thought well, it's time to show the **** what scoobs are all about, as he surely did have glue about his cars.. So, when the lights changed to green, I just floored it.. I must say he kept up with for the first few yards and then after he was history and a spect in my rear view mirror.. bye bye TT..!! what a Total ****..

So I am glad that I didn't get one now.!!

OJ

Mods : one mag behind drivers seat, tit-tat, bottled water, sun glasses, empty bag of crisp, old car park tickets, one old rag..
so what do think of my mods then...!! impressive.. ????

The best TT experience I had was when Mellow Yellow! and I visited TSL last year and went for a tour round the village whilst waiting for his car.

A convertible TT with roof down was parked up on the side of the road and it's owner - a slightly plump gentleman in a suit was flicking though some paperwork.

As soon as I saw the glint in Mellow's eye I started to drift away from him whilst he made his way towards the TT.

Mellow with serious face: "Good afternoon, I see you're driving a TT, I was just wondering if you were a hairdresser?"

Guy in car raises eyebrows: "Er no why?

Mellow with slight grin: "Oh right, it's just that I was told that all owners of TT's were hairdressers you see"

Guy in car: "!!!!!!?????" <expression on face was a picture!>

(Or words to that effect)

Me? I was wetting myself by the nearest wall were I could support myself from laughing so much.

James,

Do you honestly realise what you have started. Remember I am now an Audi driver, and after what I did for you :-)

Not all Audi drivers are complete tossers. Well maybe all TT drivers are, I dont know.

Anyway, enough for now.

Darren I must offer my sincerest apologies and may I also add that you are the exception to the rule (but then you are an ex scoob man so you know you're alright.

Look forward to seeing you in the future mate.

I can't be arsed to log in and post there, but one of the well informed chaps seems to think a 'well-tuned skyine' will not walk all over an RS4/6 etc. or whatever the challenge was.... Someone should point out exactly how well tuned a well tuned skyline can be.....

Meanwhile, XT, you really should put that skill to good use my friend. Hat off to you.

Previous to the A4, we had an RS4. In straight lines and high speed corners it really was brutally fast and the mid-range pick up was truly awesome. Although I'm sure a 400bhp Skyline wouldn't be a million miles away, and a 'well tuned' one would deffo be quicker. Through the real tight corners I found it really dissapointing and unresponsive though.

Not that the RS4 has got anything to do with the TT, the Scoob or the stereotypical owners. Which was the basis of the flame war in the first place.
