Worth bearing in mind that it takes a certain type of person to post in the way that some of them have. The sensible/normal/call them what you like guys are either having a laugh too, or just not posting.

The thing is they are unfounded in two ways - firstly, new scoobies are in the same ball park pricewise as TTs, and any age impreza isnt exactly cheap to run. But also, they seriously seem to think that TTs are the height of exclusivity and vastly expensive

Getting fed up with this now the reason i have mine is beacause

Convertible cars are the best way to get my long locks noticed when
im driving to local wine bar.The thing is,my xr3i convertible and
golf cabriolet are old hat now,so i think this tt may be the next
big thing in hair flaunting.The wheels arent to big,so i can
spend less money on tyres and more on hairspray,while the
colour will reflect the sun nicely onto my 100% genuine tan.
And theres enough room in the boot for my industrial hairdryer
and butt plug.Its not fast so my hair wont get a wind bashing
and people will see my lovely face when i cruise by.Also the
steering is more responsive than a kid when i chop off the top
of his ear.With this car i feel head and shoulders above batty
boy and his mx5 in the salon up the road.

Round here all the TT drivers are angry young males of the "gangsta" persuasion who wear gold chains and drive around with "Bling Bling bling.............motherfcuker.......bitch" hip hop/rap blasting out of it. Either that or they are middle aged divorced men looking to impress "girls" (read a bottle blond mutton dressed as lamb type). All the trendy types who bought them years ago have long sinced moved on. The car doesn't attract the motoring enthusiast as it has few of the qualities that they look for.

I actually like TT's despite image problem they are an interesting piece of design and undeniably well built. How many concept cars make it to the market significantly unchanged?
I think I'll wait for the new RS TT (350bhp?)based on the Mk5 Golf before I consider ownership.

 

Totally agree with the last post - So SOlid Crew killed off the tiny bit of image the TT had. The impression it gives round here is "xr3i" or "Beemer 320i cab"

- its a pikey car, for people who can't afford/appreciate a Boxster S or TVR. So SOlid Crew got paid ****-all for their recording contract - the TTs are on lease like their ****ehawke gold chains.
