Rusty my friend looked over the R/R session quite impressive. If I trawl through all the pages it would answer my question. But I will ask it easier, what MY and Mods if any, I run a MY 97 standard 115bhp, but would like it R/R ed to see where to go next.

Hello DEEDEE,
Mine is a MY00 - V plate reg'd Feb 2000 but is deffo a MY00, not a MY99. I believe these were about 124bhp standard as oppossed to the earlier Sports being 114bhp.
I have only changed the back box to a Hayward & Scott Afterburner from Scoobyworld but, as some may have seen at the NBO
, there is a full system on the way ![Big Grin](images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
![Big Grin](images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
Other plans include the 57i Gen 2 kit currently seen on Newport's white beast followed by a visit to Stan palmers in Carlisle for their Sport Chip - should be good for at least 150bhp (I hope)![Big Grin](images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
It may be less than 3.5 years old but it has already clocked up 70,000 miles so is nicely bedded in![Cool](images/smilies/cool.gif)

I got my MY97 booked in at TSL on the 19th 11am, for the geometry setup. How many Sports have had this done. When I got the 7x17s on that made a difference, then it changed for the better with Eibachs fitted, I now have been told it will be transformed again. I will give a report. CORNER's here I come.

DEEDEE,
I've got the Prodrive settings on my Sport (with 205/50 R16 Toyo T1-S) and it made a big difference. How much of this was just correcting my previously bad geometry is impossible to say however
. The geometry is out again now and so will have it done again at some point.
Ben.

RR still planned for September ![Cool](images/smilies/cool.gif)
Talking of which, I had my centre section fitted this afternoon, not a noticable increase in noise so next plan is to try evicting the moggies![Big Grin](images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
![Big Grin](images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
Still don't fancy paying £180 for a Gen 2 57i - let me know if you see any going second hand

As I have said having the geometry done on the 19th, so I thought I would swap the wheels round front on back and visa versa. Shock horror it has screwed up the outer edges on the front tyres. But the question is what pressures should I have in the tyres. 205x40x17s, when I checked them they are showing 22psi is this about right

Good lord! 22psi? Are you nuts? You should be running 34psi front, and 32 in the back! You're probably sitting on rims with 17" wheels!
I may have a wagon, but the weight difference is negligble and the overall dimensions are the same as the sedan...![Wink](images/smilies/wink.gif)
In short, pump them up FAST!

![Question](images/icons/icon5.gif)
I might just go for a replacement panel in the standard airbox but I deffo want to get rid of all the pipes and other boxes between the headlight and the air box - must be some supplier who can crates a suitable straight through pipe?

Yes I must have been potty not to have checked the pressures sooner. I wonder if some KIDS had been round because I noticed two caps where missing both same side, I have put the air in today but not been out in it. As for the geometry setup It has not been done since I had the Eibachs fitted.

Induction kit I think is the way to go. The panel isn't bad, I have a K&N and it's definitely better than a stock paper one.
But the airflow is still restricted by the mass of plastic piping! On Friday night I removed a section of pipe - basically the air was going in, then travelling down a main section but off this main pipe there are two "boxes" which only have in-holes and don't lead anywhere. So it looks like air goes in, then tries to get out against the flow, and that slows airflow down. There's several "dead air" boxes along the pipe. I removed one section and taped up the hole with gaffer tape
and it's still doing ok.
I'm thinking though if you can find some suitable diameter-sized piping you can rig up your own air duct. Pretty sure a plumbing shop would have something!

Forgot to mention that there are probably some nice Samco hosepipes lying around at one of them tuning houses, they would probably sell them and a couple of tightening brackets for cheap!
So you could get a panel filter and just get rid of the extra piping, methinks it would be cheaper than a full induction kit. Might not look as nice though. But you could put your coffee pot in the engine bay to keep warm...you'll have enough room trust me!
:P
