I'm obviously lucky...
My missus doesn't particularly mind me spending money on my Impreza Turbo, especially as she's now using it to drive to work and I use her Legacy Turbo instead.
She thoroughly enjoyed driving the Impreza around the Nurburgring.
She enjoyed driving Porsches at Mallory Park the week before that.
Looks like she may be thinking about a Honda S2000, after a few passenger rides in one at the 'Ring...

My better half wants to know why I keep all the broken and worn out parts from my 01WRX in the shed. "If the parts are no good, which they must be or you wouldnt have to replace them, then why keep them!"
What can you say to that.........sentimental value?
"Should an exhaust wear out in 3 months, surely thats not right"

I'm useless at hiding stuff from my wife, so I don't try. I just confess my sins, as it's good for the soul, and buy a load of flowers.
When I walk through the door with a large bunch of flowers, her first words are now "what have you bought". Normally preceeded by a minor obscenity...

I see that all these threads are now showing a definate divide. The ones that say stuff em its my money are NOT married and theones that hide stuff, buy flowers, make excuses seem to BE married !!!
And about using their logic for you.Dont work mate.If you try saying "but if you did that you would do yabba yabba" and they say " thats not the same at all" start using a new kind of logic that you never even knew existed.
Oh well different strokes eh?

I must admit I get no agro from the better half at all when it comes to the car, unless im spending silly money on it.... I tend to build up to the big spends, yesterday I planted the idea that my brakes are awful and dangerous.... but unfortunatley the ones I want are about £2000..... now she knows im after them, I will now give it a couple of months before buying them see, flawless!
She knows better than to whinge about the car, the only thing she gets a little narked about is the amount of time I spend mucking about with it on weekends (for instance, 12.5hours yesterday changing the clutch)..... my argument is that I will die of boredom if she drags me shopping one more time

I just don't get it with the majority of the female population (Not scoobynet women obviously!), what is money for if not to spend on cars? Who would want to drive around in something boring, slow or standard?
I'd rather have a fantastic car than a nice house full of 'pretty' knick-knacks and other crap
One of my best ever presents from a bloke friend was a Bailey Dump Valve (cheers Ady ) although I wouldn't say no to a Tiffany necklace I'd still rather spend the money on the car

I get the Doctor to call us up every January.....he says things like..."About another 6 months I reckon"...
She is so so kind to me for the rest of the year and forgets about the 6 months!!
Cool eh!

Guys Guys Guys!
Look, just to put things in perspective, it's all about what you want....if you really WANT a wife then she has to come before the car. If you really love your car, make sure you go into a relationship with them, completely understanding that.
Everything else should work out fine.
